Dr. Xu (Sue) Qian is a Board-Certified orthodontist and a Diplomate of American Board of Orthodontics. She earned her DDS and completed her orthodontic residency with a MS at West China School of Dentistry, Sichuan University. Then she completed a PhD in Oral Health Sciences at School of Dentistry, University of Michigan. She completed her second residency with a specialty certificate in Orthodontics at UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Qian has started practicing orthodontics since 2008. She is highly experienced in orthodontic practicing, teaching, and research. She was a full-time faculty teaching orthodontic residents and treating patients at Tufts University, Boston before relocating to Seattle with her husband who is a software engineer and their two young kids. Currently, in addition to practicing orthodontics, she continues remote teaching the orthodontic residents as a clinical associate professor. Dr. Qian provides treatment with both braces and clear aligners. She is a credentialed Invisalign provider. Dr. Qian decided to become an orthodontist when she was in middle school because of the awesome experience she had with her orthodontist. She is ecstatic to provide the same memorable experiences for all her patients and maybe inspire them to join the field as well! Dr. Qian says, “I love working together with my patients to provide them with an optimal individualized treatment. Creating beautiful, healthy and confident smiles for my patients means everything to me.” Away from the office, Dr. Qian enjoys hiking, cooking and spending time with her family.
