I scheduled an appointment on Sunday using ZocDoc and was seen at 10:30am Monday morning. My wisdom tooth was causing me so much pain, I was so grateful they had an opening. Dr. Q was very relaxed and very nice which made me feel at ease. My x-rays were done quickly and Dr. Q said he could remove my tooth effortlessly. I said yes and the procedure began. It was over in less than a minute. Yay!!
The ladies that work the front desk were very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall a great experience.

I had two wisdom teeth on the left side extracted. The pain and swelling only lastedone night, I started eating regular food the next day! My only complain is that the doctor and nurse did't explain to me the paranomic X-ray was not covered by my insurance beforehand. Give the excellent surgical skill, I'll still give Dr. Quintana a five star.

Yan Quintana was born in Cuba. He moved to New York in his early 20s after attending college in Miami.
He received his dental degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, and his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Quintana completed a six year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center where he served as chief resident during his last year of training.
Dr Quintana practices full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This includes extraction of teeth, dental implants, bone grafting both major and minor, and general anesthesia. Also included are the diagnosis and treatment of pathology, diagnosis and treatment of TM joint disease, jaw surgery in conjunction with orthodontic treatment, facial trauma, and cosmetic facial surgery including Botox and cosmetic fillers. His special interest is orthodontic jaw surgery. He admits his patients to New York Presbyterian Hospital.
After residency training, Dr Quintana joined Greenwich Village Oral Surgery, a group serving the needs of lower Manhattan since 1977. His centrally located Village office is a state of the art facility, with five fully equipped treatment rooms, an onsite CT scanner, and a staff of trained surgical assistants, all certified in basic life support. His goal is to provide surgical excellence, while making each and every patient as comfortable as possible.
Dr Quintana is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dental Medicine in Oral Surgery at Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine.
