Dr. Crystal graduated Dental School from UMDNJ, got her Pediatric Dental training from Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, and has a MSc in Clinical and Translational Research from New York University Medical School’s Center for Translational Science Institute.
Dr. Crystal is a Diplomate (Board Certified Pediatric Dentist) and Examiner of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. As an Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry, she is a faculty member that teaches dentists who want to become specialists in Pediatrics. She is also an instructor of pediatric conscious sedation for the American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia and Sedation in Dentistry at St. Josephs Hospital in Paterson, NJ.
With more than 20 years of experience in direct patient care, teaching and research, Dr. Crystal is a Scientific Expert Consultant with several national and international organizations including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry and the International Association of Dental Research. Her areas of research and expertise include management of dental caries in young children, caries management by risk assessment (CAMBRA), alternative therapies for caries management including Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF), and behavioral management techniques for delivery of care on children.
Dr. Crystal lectures to health care audiences in the US and abroad, and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. She believes all children are entitled to good oral health, so she has volunteered her services at free dental clinics many countries.
Dr. Crystal is a mother to Ari, Emil and Lara and is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian.
