I am a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon with a fellowship and speciality training in the field of sports medicine. I am the Head Team Physician for the DC United and the Team Physician for US Soccer. During my 10+ year career as a sports orthopedic surgeon, I have acquired an expertise in treating muscoskeletal disorders that often occur from sports related activities.
My patient list includes recreational, high school, collegiate and professional athletes.My goal for every patient/athlete is for them to return to their prior level of fitness and activity while being "out of action" for the shortest amount of time possible.

Very helpful. Went in for a minor knee injury and he still took the time to give me a thorough evaluation. Did not feel like Dr. Gilbert was rushing through me to get to his next patient. Definitely recommend this physician.

The reason I had to wait more than an hour was b/c my appointment made online was not added to the scheduled appointments in the office scheduling system. The reception did fit me in but I had an appointment at 8am and I was not seen until 9am. I explained that I received an online confirmaton and she said that it does not mean anything if the office does not call you to confirm. It makes it pointless to make an appointment online. And I had no way of knowing that a phone confirmation was needed.

This was my first visit to M.O.S.T and Dr. Gilbert, and I could not have been happier with the whole experience from making the appointment to visiting the office and meeting Dr. Gilbert.
First of all the process to make my appointment was extremely efficient and easy; I made my appointment without having to talk to a single person. It was all done online. I was particularly pleased when I got a text message reminder this morning with the time of the appointment, address and the phone number of the office. Nice last touch before heading to the office.
Second, the staff at the office were professional and friendly; it didn't take long before I was conducted to the examination room to meet Dr. Gilbert.
Third and last but not least, Dr. Gilbert is simply AWESOME! He is competent, professional, friendly and easy going. We had a very productive conversation about my left knee; he thoroughly explained the problem and the options available to me. Our conversation was particularly exciting when we talked about nutrition and the correlation between diet and health problems.
I highly highly recommend Dr. Gilbert to anyone with any sport related injuries or with any orthopedic needs.
The highlight of Dr. Gilbert's approach is the fact that he is not quick to render a surgery or a procedure as the first and the only option. After my first visit with Dr. Gilbert today he has my full confidence for my future orthopedic needs.

Dr. Gilbert was wonderful. He diagnosed a long-standing problem immediately and offered suggestions and recommendations to ease the pain that other doctors did not. He spends a long time with the patient and listens carefully to the problem. His bedside manner is great.

Gilbert is your standard sports orthopedist who is friendly and thorough. However, MOST seems to be more like a patient conveyor belt than a personalized private practice. Huge wait times because they see so many patients a day, because that's how they make the most money. The only redeeming factor is that they use Zoc Doc and spare me the misery of attempting to set up appointments by phone.

He was very pleasant to talk with. He showed a great deal of concern for my issues and was very articulate when explaining the diagnosis. He answered all of my questions and was very patient and professional. As far as my overall doctor's visit I would give him an A and the practice a B- for not having upgraded their sign-in and new patient process by making it computer based. There's just no reason to have to fill out all those forms on paper -especially with all the alternative options available (iPad/tablet???). I was happy that they didn't make me wait for 3 hours. That was a nice change from all the other offices I've been to.

Dr. Gilbert is terrific. Attentive and knowledgeable. The front desk staff is a bit intense but with so much going on it seems like they need to be. Dr. Gilbert himself was awesome. Friendly and easy to speak to and listened to everything you had to say before giving his thoughts and diagnosis. Highly recommend.

After slipping on ice and crashing down on my shoulder, Dr Gilbert was able to see me the same day and provide expert advice on how to treat my condition. His office even helped me set up an MRI close to home, and a follow-up appointment within a week to ensure fast, and accurate diagnosis and treatment.

I liked Dr. Gilbert a lot. But I thought I waited a bit too long. However, that can happen on any given day in any doctor's office. It was my first visit, so I'm giving them a pass. If it happens consistently on future visits, then I'll be upset. But I would definitely recommend Dr. Gilbert (and already did, to a coworker).
