Dr. Gutierrez came to Orlando in 1987 where he has been in private practice for 25 years. He was Chief of Dermatology at Florida Hospital from 2000 to 2003. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Medical Association, the Central Florida Society of Dermatology and the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. He was a board member of the Pan American Medical Association and a counselor for the Southern Medical Association.
Dr. Michael Gutierrez was born in Cuba in 1957. He immigrated to the Unites States in 1960 where he grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and Mount Claire, New Jersey.
Dr. Gutierrez did his undergraduate education at the University of New Orleans where he received a Bachelors of Science in Biology. He did his medical training at Louisiana State University Medical School and completed his degree in 1983. He did an internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans LSU division and his residency at LSU Charity Hospital New Orleans. He was Board Certified in Dermatology in 1987. During his residency at LSU, Dr. Gutierrez was recipient of the Peterkin Award for the Outsanding Resident Research Projects for 1987 and also received a Continuing Medical Education Award from the American Academy of Dermatology during that time. He was also Voted Top Doctor by his peers in 2011.

Dr. Gutierrez seems to be very knowledgeable. However, he rushed in and out of my room and I didn't have much time to ask questions. This was my first time seeing him, so I'll review again after a few more visits.

I was in the office for about 30 min and of those 30 min, I saw him for about 2 min! His nurse and two Pas did all the work. I left there still not knowing an answer to my question about marks on my arm... He basically came in the room to say hello and make sure his staff was doing what was needed to be done... and then he left. I never really felt he was treating me. I will go again to see if this is 'normal' for him since many others who recommended him to me said he did not normally act this way. We shall see...
