“I recently took my son to see Dr. Julia Accetta for molluscum, a notoriously stubborn childhood skin virus. Our experience at the office was excellent initially; we were seen very promptly, and the actual visit with Dr. Accetta was both professional and courteous.
However, the post-visit communication fell short. I called the office twice the following day to get some additional information regarding follow-up care. While the office staff was responsive and called me back, I was never able to connect with Dr. Accetta directly, and I ultimately did not get the specific care information I needed.
Dr. Accetta is a great clinician, but the communication pipeline for follow-up questions could be improved for better patient continuity.”

About Dr. Julia Accetta
Dr. Julia specializes in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Originally from Buffalo, NY, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from The George Washington University before relocating to New Orleans to continue her medical education. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She then completed her internship and dermatology residency at Tulane, serving as Chief Resident in her final year.
During her time at Tulane, Dr. Accetta received comprehensive training in complex medical dermatology and developed a strong expertise in cosmetic procedures, including dermal fillers and neuromodulators. She also completed a two-year clinical research fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Erin Boh, focusing on a range of skin conditions. As an investigator in multiple clinical trials, Dr. Accetta contributed to groundbreaking research on hidradenitis suppurativa, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and vitiligo. Her work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented at numerous national conferences.
Dr. Accetta is particularly passionate about skin cancer detection and treatment but is also skilled in managing a wide variety of dermatologic conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, autoimmune skin diseases, alopecia and many more. She is committed to providing personalized, evidence-based care, helping her patients achieve and maintain healthy, vibrant skin. Outside of her practice, Dr. Accetta enjoys pottery classes, attending local music and food festivals, and spending time with her family, friends, and her mini bernedoodle, Clio.

I would go to this doctor again. She listened to me. She immediately knew what I had on my head. She told me that it wasn’t cancer. She froze the growth. I only wish I would have asked what was going to happen now that the growth has been treated. The appointment was just yesterday; so, I guess it will scab over and fall off. I will have to wait and see.
But; all in all, it was a good experience.

Every other dermatologist I called said I had to wait a year for an appointment. I had some concerns about spots on my skin and was not willing to wait a year. I contacted this doctor that was recommended and got an appointment the very next morning. The office is huge, beautiful, very professional, and extremely friendly. One of my best experiences. ?
