About Dr. Julia Accetta
Dr. Julia specializes in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Originally from Buffalo, NY, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from The George Washington University before relocating to New Orleans to continue her medical education. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She then completed her internship and dermatology residency at Tulane, serving as Chief Resident in her final year.
During her time at Tulane, Dr. Accetta received comprehensive training in complex medical dermatology and developed a strong expertise in cosmetic procedures, including dermal fillers and neuromodulators. She also completed a two-year clinical research fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Erin Boh, focusing on a range of skin conditions. As an investigator in multiple clinical trials, Dr. Accetta contributed to groundbreaking research on hidradenitis suppurativa, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and vitiligo. Her work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented at numerous national conferences.
Dr. Accetta is particularly passionate about skin cancer detection and treatment but is also skilled in managing a wide variety of dermatologic conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, autoimmune skin diseases, alopecia and many more. She is committed to providing personalized, evidence-based care, helping her patients achieve and maintain healthy, vibrant skin. Outside of her practice, Dr. Accetta enjoys pottery classes, attending local music and food festivals, and spending time with her family, friends, and her mini bernedoodle, Clio.
