Patient reviews for Dr. A (Abraham) David Flug
I was allowed to leave without necessary shades after glaucoma exam
It was early in the morning when I arrived so the waiting area was a little since the window AC units are turned off overnight. Other than that the waiting room is comfortable. The receptionist was extremely welcoming and cordial. Paperwork was minimal and easy to complete and I was given the required HIPPA disclosure. I first met with Dr Flug’s assistant who checked the prescription of my glasses and gave me a vision test. Dr. Flug then met with me. I explained the reason I was there and asked him not to dilate my pupils since I had to immediately drive to work. Dr. Flug checked my eye and reassured me that things seemed fine but also cautioned me that by not dilating my pupils he was limited in what he could observe. He suggested that I might consider using prescription drops for a few days, but there was no pressure to accept a prescription. I accepted it and Dr Flug gave me a Paper showing the price that the medication was available for to compare with what my pharmacy was charging. He also gave me a complimentary bottle of lubricant eye drops. The receptionist completed the visit by taking my co-pay and giving me a receipt and a paper indicating what the doctor had prescribed for my reference. Overall, I found Dr Flug to be very businesslike. He seems to approach his patients by asking why they are seeing him and then using his expertise to examine and recommend solutions. I would see him again.
Thorough but was still in and out within 30 minutes. Great doctor and office
The staff was extremely warm, friendly and helpful. Dr. Flug wasn’t exactly warm, didnt’t even crack a smile, but his examination was thourough.
Very friendly and professional
Although very thorough in his examination, he gave little to no information and he seemed rushed. I didn't get a sense of reassurance as a first time patient. I had to pry for answers. Although I need a procedure done, I have decided to get a second opinion and go with a doctor who is going to care and take the time.
Very efficient office, was seen in a timely manner, very friendly receptionist.
I arrived early which wasn't a problem, friendly, helpful receptionist/assistant. Paperwork was fast and easy as well. The doctor was through with a great relaxed but professional manner who made sure I felt comfortable and kept me well informed.
My experience was excellent! I will recommend Dr. FLUG to anyone! Very good Dr.
Quick and efficient
The doctor was professional and business like. He explained what he was doing. I felt comfortable while being examined The staff in his office were pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this doctor to my friends
The purpose of my appointment was to check out two bubbles in my eyelid. The receptionist was very nice and inviting. Once I went to the room to be seen by the doctor, the nightmare began. The Dr. looked at my eyelid and assured me the two bubbles in my eye were cyst and I had nothing to worry about. He then began to examine my eye again and ripped off a cyst he found on my top eyelid WITHOUT warning. I was in shock and wasn’t really sure how to respond. He then put drops in both my eyes and told me to wait ten minutes because he dilated my pupils. As I’m waiting in the lobby I notice my vision was slim to NONE. Never having my eyes dilated, this was weird for me. I then came back so he could examine my left eye for the floating spots I told him about earlier during the check in process. He shined a bright yellow light in my eye (I’m assuming to make sure the floating spots I was seeing was nothing serious) he then rinsed my eyes out and advised me not to rub them for ten minutes. He advise me to make another appointment in two years! A little worried, I asked him when will I regain sight because I still had about 30% vision. The doctor tells me I will not regain my full vision for about 6 HOURS! OMG was my first thought, how am I going to drive home! I was NEVER told I would not be able to see for the past 6 hours. I had to go in my car, grab my shades and call my husband to pick me up. I live about 20 mins away from the office! NEVER EVER AGAIN!
Very friendly office staff. Doctor was very professional and seemed trustworthy/reliable.
Swift and efficient; I was able to get exam and talk to the Dr. fairly quickly. Dr. Flug is professional and to the point on answering all my questions.
Wrong type of Doctor I needed a optometrist
The wait was less than half an hour, which was nice. That said, doctor Flug doesn't waste time on pleasantries. He walked in without so much as introducing himself and started testing. I feel he was thourough and knowledgeable with the actual tests, but he didn't explain anything until I asked him, and even then I got short, curt answers. Honestly, I would have been fine with this if it weren't for the receptionists and the reception area itself. In the two days after making my appointment I literally received three separate phone calls asking to reschedule, one time they wanted me to reschedule to the time they rescheduled me to the last time. I thought that was strange but I decided to shrug it off. My mistake. When I got there the reception area was dark and didn't look very clean or inviting. The receptionist was pretty jovial but VERY unprofessional. In the half hour I was in there I heard her making at least 6 phone calls to patients, not asking -but telling them to reschedule. And on top of clearly not knowing how to do her actual job she was often rude to these patients. If someone appeared to have a problem with rescheduling she sounded more like she was telling her friends they were being dumb, instead of talking to actual patients. It was madness. This made me decide never to step foot in there again, before I had even seen Dr. Flug. I don't know what made him hire his personnel but their incompetence is unrivaled.
I was very unsatisifed with this visit. The doctor did not adequately explain a diagnosis and was dismissive of my questions. Additionally, he would randomly leave the room without saying where he was going. I found he was very unsympathetic when I complained that the procedure was really bothering me. I would most definitely not recommend him. Additionally, the office thought my appointment was on a different date then I scheduled with Zocdoc.
Expected puff test for glaucoma but Dr Flug has newer instrument to test eye pressure. Appreciated that Dr Flug went one step further. Though pressure was fine, Dr Flug took picture of eye and found have thin cornea, which is risk factor for glaucoma. Scheduled return visit in 3 months to monitor.
Expected puff test for glaucoma but instead had higher tech instrument. Was impressed that Dr Flug is up-to-date in latest techniques.
Very efficient, which judging by the reviews some people seem to mistake for rushed. He doesn't engage in much small talk, and gets right to the point, but he took the time to answer my questions and explain everything.
Dr. David Abraham Flug is very nice doctor, who knows what he is doing. I am very satisfied with my visit, Thank you.
First off the office looks shabby, unkept. Most offices open up at least 30mins before patients arrive. Not so in this situation. The receptionist and his assistant were kind and attentive. However that cannot be said for Dr. Flug. Terrible demeanor. I felt like he just wanted to get through the day rather than tend to patient's needs. I believe he may be very knowledgeable in his field but he could learn to be more personable. I will not be recommending him nor will I be returning.
I found Dr Flug to be very knowledgeable and thorough. Excellent office staff, too.
Pleasant staff...was seen quickly. The only hitch was none of the ZOCDOCs went through. They had no idea of appointment until I arrived.
The Doctor was good the reception was awful not welcoming rather racist. Environment. Felt unwelcome by reception. Will not go again.
This has to be the dirtiest doctors office I've ever been in. The secretaries must have 5,000 loose pieces of paper all over their desks and they were short with me when I asked questions. The carpets were dirty and the ceiling was full of water stains. While I was treated properly by the doctor, I will not return there.
Workers Injury. Found him on this site. Only doctor open on a Monday. And I had the paperwork mailed to me immediately and accurately. Very satisfied.
Felt reluctant to thorough explanation of my eye condition and explanation of best treatment. Didn't feel best interest or concern to patient.
The receptionist was nice, and attentive, and got me an appointment in the morning when I called in the morning, seeing that my eye needed urgent care & matching me w/the zocdoc memo I'd left.
i have been a patient of this doctor for years,,i highly recommend him..
