I am passionate about my patients and love what I do. The goal of therapy is to provide each patient with the tools to heal -- the tools to develop healthy habits and relationships… the tools to master the unique situations he or she faces. Some of my specialties include Trauma, ADD and ADHD, Child/Adolescent Psychiatry, Couples and Marriage Counseling, and Step Families.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Buffalo where I studied with Dr. George Traeger, the renowned linguist, and Dr. Ray Birdwhistle, the originator of the study of Kinesics [Body motion as communication]. I attended Medical School at the State University of New York in Buffalo, graduating in 1963. I interned at the Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo N.Y. from 1963 to 1964. I completed my residency in General Psychiatry at the Menninger School of Psychiatry in1967 while engaged in a concomitant Fellowship in Child Psychiatry at the Menninger Foundation from 1964-1968. From 1968 through 1970, I served in the U.S. Coast Guard in the U.S. Public Health Service at the Mental Health Study Center of NIMH.
In my spare time, I enjoy teaching fencing classes, admiring oriental paintings, and creating metal and ceramic sculptures.
