Courteous got straight to topic at hand & how to fix it. Seemed very genuine about helping & even made sure i got $ back bc lady @ front desk filed me under wrong reason for visiting.
What I like the most about my visit was that the doctor was very patient and didn't mind taking the time to explain to me what was going on that's been the second doctor in my lifetime then I felt it was genuinely concerned about their patient

My visit with Dr. Akhtar and his staff is always very pleasant.
This doctor was terrible. I had an appointment to verify that my vaccines were up to date for school. He signed off on my paper work saying that everything was fulfilled, but the school came back and said that I needed boosters for two of them. I had to make another appointment at a different clinic to get my boosters and I almost missed the school's deadline for submitting my medical information, which would have prevented me from attending! He also tried to charge me for tests that I didn't need. Never going back and I would recommend you look elsewhere before going to this doctor.

One of the comments is totally right on. "He doesn't listen" On Friday I was so rushed out of there. I stayed up and wrote exactly the little of a Primary Care Doctor I needed. ON my Friday appointment I needed to know if he was going to be my Pain Managament as when I called to make sure that this doctor did all he claims and then asked questions and saving me 15 miles. The main reason I chose was that it was close to my appointment at the pain clinic and this is the 4th new doctor since I have been there. EVERYTHING WAS MY FAULT I WOULD EXPLAIN TRUTHFULLY TO THEM THAT I FORGOT BUT THEN AGAIN I HAD CALLED 2 TIMES BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT AND THEY THEMSELVES COULD HAVE MENTIONED TO BRING IN ALL MY MEDICATIONS I TAKE. WHAT A JOKE THEY HAD SOME MALE NURSE AND SOME GUY IN THERE THAT I GAVE NO PERMISSION TO REVIEW MY FILE. FIRST I HAD ALREADY TOLD THE DOCTOR THAT THE NEW PAIN DOCTOR wrote a SCRIPT THAT THE INSURANCE WOULD NOT APPROVE SINCE HE ADDED A DOSE WHICH WAS I BELEIVE WAS A HAZARD TO ONES HEALTH. WHO DOESNT KNOW ABOUT THE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE MONITORING SYSTEM. THE YOUNGER MALE NURSE TRYED TO ACT ALL SMART BUT NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL AND STARTS READING OFF THE PAIN DOCTORS NAME AND "WOW THOSE ARE ALL DIFFERENT NAMES" NO KIDDING ITS THE SAME PAIN CENTER BUT THEY KEEP FIRING THE DOCTORS BEYONE MY CONTROL. THEN THE MALE WHOEVER HE WAS TAKES MY CHART AND STARTS WITH SOME SMART REMARKS AND BY THAT TIME THEY HAVE ALREADY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME BY THOSE REMARKS THAT WERE MADE LIKE ADVIZING ME ON HOW I CANNOT DO THIS AND THAT. I HAVE MANY MANY CURRENT MRI'S. WHEN HE SAID YOU NEED A MRI. I SAID I HAVE ONE THATS JUST 2 MONTHS OLD. SO I DID CALL MY INSURANCE AND WAS TOLD " THEY WILL NOT COVER ANOTHER MRI DUE TO IT ONLY BEING 2 MONTHS OLD AND NO NEW INCIDENT HAPPEND" BACK TO THE DOCTORS IGNORTANT REMARK " OH I READ THE MRI" AND ON PURPOSE I SAID WHICH ONE THE BACK OR THE 2 SHOULDER MRI'S? "I READ ALL OF THEM" WHAT A LIAR!!! I NEVER GAVE HIM THE SHOULDER CURRENT MRI'S" "THE MRI'S YEAH YEAH I LOOK T THEM THEY OK" THEN STARTS ON SOME TRIGLYCERIDES BEIGHN HIGH AND THEN THE MOST IGNORANT REMARK THIS DOCTOR MADE "THE PAIN IS NOTHING YOU NEED TO WORRY WBOUT THESE TRIGYLICERRIDES" WHILE HE HAS KNOWN I RAN OUT OF BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATIONS FROM DAY ONE" WHEN WAS HE GOING TO ADDRESS THIS" THAT MUST NOT BE IMPORTANT.. I SERIOUSLY PAID THE CO PAY TO BE DISCRIMINITATED AGAINST. WHY WAS I INTERROGATTED WITH SOME UNKNOWN MAN IN THE ROOM VIOLATING THE HIPPA LAW AND THEN VIOLATES THE HIPPA LAW BY READING MY CHART? HE CALLS IN A BUNCH ON MEDICATIONS THAT WERE SO VERY EXPENSIVE THAT MY OLD PRIMARY CARE LET ME USE PATIENT ASSISTANCE AND SAMPLES. I TRYED TO ASK BUT HE ACTS LIKE HE IS ABOVE ME AND IGNORES WHAT I SAY AND HE CAN ONLY SPEAK.. HE THEN COMMENTS ON MY PHYCHATRIC MEDICATIONS THAT I TAKE. THAT COMBINATION I HAVE TAKEND FOR 5 YEARS AND NOT ONE OTHER DOCTOR HAS SAID ANYTHING ABOUT IT OR IF THERE WAS SOME SORT OF CONFLICTION BETWEEN MEDICATIONS THEN IT SHOULD BE BROUGHT UP. IF HE WAS A TRUE HUMAN BEING INSTEAD OF TRYING TO FIND FAULT IN ME. HE SHOULD LEARN THE DEFINITION OF BEING PROFESSIONAL AND NOT BRING UP MY PAST SINCE THAT INVOLVES MY PAST TRAUMA.. AND ALSO THAT GUY HE HAD IN THERE AFTER I TOLD HIM WHY I WAS DISABLED HE WANTED TO CONTINUE MORE TO FIND OUT. OH AND FOR THE PAIN WOW DOES IT HURT TO EVEN GET UP AND MOVE MY ARMS. "BUT ITS NO BIG DEAL"

Dr and staff are very nice. They just need to have processes in place regarding patient arrival and security. Also the wait was too long.
Was pleased with the Doctors thorough exam, sometimes though it was a little hard to understand him due to his accent and that he is very soft spoken.
Dr. Akhtar is an excellent doctor. Understand very well the patient. We wish we didn't have to wait so long to be seen. We recommend him to others.
