Doctor Alan L. Kalischer has been serving central New Jersey’s cardiac care needs for over 25 years. He graduated from New York University and went on to New York Medical College. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Kalischer then went on to do a cardiology fellowship for 2 years at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center where he did special training in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology along with becoming proficient in cardiac catheterizations and cardiac pacemakers. He stayed on as staff physician at Presbyterian Hospital before moving to New Jersey in 1984.
After working for over 20 years in a group cardiology practice in Scotch Plains, Dr. Kalischer felt he could best serve his patient’s needs in a solo practice setting and set up his full service practice with offices in Fanwood and Westfield.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Doctor Kalischer also holds special certification in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He has also been cited by Castle and Connolly‘s Best Doctors in the New York Metropolitan Area for the last six years.
Along with his staff privileges at Overlook, JFK hospitals, Dr. Kalischer also holds an academic appointment at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. He had served as Vice President of the Medical Staff of Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center for over 5 years.
