Dr Alan Mitchell and his professional, caring staff genuinely enjoy making each patient's complete experience a positive one. Dr. Mitchell graduated magna cum laude with his undergraduate degree from Tufts University in 1981. He then received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine in 1985. Dr. Mitchell’s residency training in ophthalmology was done at New York Medical College in 1990, as well as a fellowship in refractive surgery at the Casebeer Center for Keratorefractive Research and Education in 1993.
Throughout his practice experience, Dr. Mitchell has directed a national consulting service for refractive surgeons and has taught and lectured both nationally and internationally. Dr. Mitchell was medical director and regional education director for the first corporately-owned LASIK center in South Florida. In that position, he proctored and credentialed surgeons on how to properly perform LASIK surgery. Currently, Dr. Mitchell is the medical director of the Mitchell Refractive Surgery and Eye Center. He is certified by the Board of Ophthalmology and fellowship-trained in refractive surgery.

A true professional. Dr. Mitchell is patient, understanding and looks for solutions. I went to him after another doctor performed a procedure that ruined my sight. He has been compassionate and unwavering in trying to correct my vision with lenses. His staff is just as compassionate and professional. I'm always greeted with a smile. Everyone is always happy. They appear to love what they do. Consistantly his staff tells me how much they love working for Dr Mitchell. You will be in the best care with this practice. I'm sorry I didn't find Dr. Mitchell sooner.

He is a good DR. Had a procedure scheduled for 6.15pm. Had to be home by 8 because of sick wife. At 6:45 went to front desk but Dr still not ready. At 7 Dr walked out with another patient and looked at my cyst on lower eye lid and suggest putting hot compress on and come back next week if not gone.
45 minute wait is just to long unless some emergency which there was not.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mitchell's since the 1990's. I drive 40 minutes to his office. I would drive twice that distance. He is the best doctor I have ever had. From his expertise to his manner, Dr. Mitchell is awesome. His staff is equally as nice!
