I went to Alana looking for guidance on how I could get closer to achieving personal goals, navigate the role food was playing in my life and also get a better understanding of nutrition generally. I left our sessions always feeling calm, relaxed and more in-tuned with myself. Alana's approach with me was holistic, in that it wasn't just about food, it was also about other stressors (internal or external) that would ultimately affect how my body received food, paired with breath and meditation. I left our final sessions with such a clear, focused and totally present sense of self. I also have a clearer understanding for the best way to nurture my body and how to feel good about those choices. I'll catch myself loosing that sense of 'presence' sometimes, and just work to tap back into it. Since then, I've lost some weight, I've also switched to an 80% plant-based diet (supported by vitamins and minerals) and have a great handle on portions and snacking. Alana is great; she's a wonderful, kind person, highly knowledgable and taps into who you are individually. No cookie-cutter suggestions.
Alana is a professional and knowledgeable nutritionist. She made me feel very comfortable and I look forward to my future sessions.
Alana is a multi-talented practitioner and draws from thorough inquiry into numerous sources which makes her practice authentically integrated. She is a Registered Dietitian, and has also studied Ayuveda and Yoga and understands that well being, diet and our ability to diet are all interconnected and must be treated in an integrated way. For example, included in her treatment are yoga poses to compliment her dietary work. She is patient, friendly, supportive, receptive, and i can tell from my own experience, that she offers a particular sense of personal care and understanding for each patient's individual needs.
