I had originally sought help from Bee Cave Acupuncture as I noticed a knot in my back. I get knots all the time, and this one started like a normal knot but began to turn into something serious as it had started to affect my breathing. I had gotten a massage before but based on my last experience with a massage therapist, I wasn't sure I was ready to have someone dig into my back like that as I was in a lot of pain. I was referred to Bee Cave, and more specifically Alejandra by a friend and decided to give it a try.
Upon arriving, I immediately noticed how clean and serene the clinic was. I didn't really get to take it in too much as I was pretty much admitted as soon as I arrived after taking the proper COVID-19 safety precautions. My consultation began with questions about my back, however to my surprise Alejandra began asking me questions about the rest of my body, as well as my mental. She diagnosed issues with my sleeping and energy throughout the day that I thought honestly were normal and a part of getting older. I was thoroughly impressed as she seemed to understand my body better than me.
Then began the acupuncture. I wouldn't say I am afraid of needles but I'm certainly not a fan of them. That being said, I didn't feel a single one as Alejandra began inserting them into my back. It was very therapeutic and I could feel the tension being released from my back almost instantly. I experienced more relief in that short session than any massage I had ever gotten before. More than the physical relief was a newfound sense of how my body was connected. Alejandra has a way of explaining pain into language and then is able to execute a plan through a variety of treatments that if followed correctly achieve the desired results.
It's been about 4 months now and I continue to go to Bee Cave Acupuncture once or twice a month and will continue to go. I've recommended them to almost everyone I know as it has really opened my eyes on how to listen to my body closely which is a relationship I believe everyone should have with themselves.
If you are like me and thought that back pain or shoulder pain was just a consequence of living or "getting older", I would highly recommend you go get your body checked out by the team at Bee Cave Acupuncture. If you're on the fence about acupuncture, I guarantee if you schedule an appointment you'll leave learning something about your own body you didn't know.
