Hello!
I am Alexa Schneider MPS, RDN and founder of Be Well Nutrition Counseling. I am a non-diet dietitian who is passionate about self-compassion and healing the relationship with food and body. After graduating with my Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health from William Paterson University, I went on to complete my Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State University, to obtain my license as a Registered Dietitian. During my time as a graduate student, I focused on eating disorder prevention, treatment of disordered eating, and mindful, intuitive eating.
My passion for nutrition started at a young age as I, like many others, fell victim to diet-culture. I am here to help individuals break free from this cycle of harmful, misinformation, with a mindful, neutral approach by applying therapeutic methodologies; including food science with a mind-body connection, and self-compassion.
My goal is to guide individuals in finding and strengthening the voice that soothes them to help combat dysfunctional eating thoughts, urges, and behaviors, and put an emphasis on fueling and nourishing the body. This can be done by identifying one’s attitudes towards body weight and body shape, disordered weight control behaviors amongst food control behaviors, external influences such as peers, family, and friends, and ensuring the conversation surrounding nutrition education is mindful, engaging, and supportive.
