From the moment you walk in ever aspect of your appointment is amazing. The receptionist was friendly and the doctor’s assistant was phenomenal. Once we went into our room and were seen promptly by Dr. Pellicena. She was very kind and answered all of our questions. We had a few lengthy ones. We didn’t feel rushed or anything. She explained everything she was doing as she was doing it which made everything easier and smoother.

Dr. Alexandra Pellicena fluently speaks both English and Spanish. She is a caring and compassionate doctor who is originally from Madrid, Spain. Dr. Pellicena has been committed to helping women through all the stages of their lives.
Dr. Pellicena obtained her BS degree in Biochemistry from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio in 1989. After working for few years in biomedical research, she attended Medical School at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated in 1997 with a concentration in Human Genetics.
After deciding to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Pellicena completed her residency training in 2001 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. In 2000, she was awarded the Arthur M. Farris Sr. MD Resident Research Award for her research on the genetics of pre-eclampsia. Since then, she has been practicing Ob/Gyn in the Northwest side of Houston. Dr. Pellicena has admitting privileges at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital. She is Board Certified in Ob/Gyn since 2004 and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Her medical practice is balanced among both obstetrics and gynecology. She enjoys the particular challenges of high risks obstetrics as well as surgical challenges in gynecology. Dr. Pellicena firmly believes on preventive care. She also enjoys focusing on adolescent gynecology, as well as menopausal transition.
On a personal note, Dr. Pellicena is married and is the mother of boy/girl twins. When she is not working, she enjoys practicing Ashtanga yoga and playing tennis.
