Dr. Alice Rose helps her clients to overcome depression, bulimia, loss of love and passion in relationships, sexual disfunction and certain addictions. No drugs are used as well as no endless talking, cognitive therapy or "insight." Often relief is reached quickly. As one patient said, "In two sessions I got further than in one year of cognitive therapy." For more than 30 years she has helped clients get relief through emotional release, where she helps uncover the root cause of a traumatic illness.
Instead of using a more conventional psycho-therapeutic approach, Dr. Rose believes that the most effective way to move past problems in living is to fully experience old wounds long hidden from consciousness. Even in the middle of the session clients say they feel like a burden is being lifted from them. Many behaviors the client does not want seem to slough off, sometimes without examining them. For example she had no idea a client had been frigid all her life (it was not the presenting problem) and she came in reporting it resolved. Dr. Rose aims to get to the emotional core of the issue through a minimal amount of talk therapy and entirely through feeling and emotion. Many clients feel better almost right away.
Dr. Rose earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University, and additionally holds a Masters in Theology from Emory University. She has over 30 years of clinical experience and interned at the Primal Institute in Los Angeles, specializing in Emotional Release. Her post doctoral training is with William Emerson, Ph.D.
