Dr. Alicia Montanez is a cardiac electrophysiologist based in Anaheim, CA. She manages patients with electrical problems of the heart such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, syncope, cardiomyopathy and sudden cardiac death.
She completed her medical education at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Facultad de Medicina Mexicali in Mexico. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Montanez completed her residency in internal medicine at the Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago. After this, she pursued her fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami and Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, respectively.
Dr. Montanez is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. She is also a member and fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology.
At present, she's the president and CEO of Southern California Electrophysiology Associates and an Associate Clinical Professor of the University of California in Irvine.
