Appt was on 08/29/17 - Dr DeSouza is an amazing doctor, but after my experience yesterday, I guess I'll have to look for another OBGYN. My annual appointment for my PAP was scheduled for 2:15pm and I got there 2:00pm. At 2:18pm I was already in a room in a gown waiting to be seen by Dr. DeSouza. I waited for about 45 minutes and no one came in to provide an update. As I was about to call the front desk, the nurse came in and apologized for the wait but Dr DeSouza was pulled in by another doctor to do a consultation with a patient. I said for so long and she said yes I don't know why it's taking so long but you're next. She asked if I wanted to see Giselle the NP and I said no. My reason is because Giselle is very unpleasant and unfriendly to deal with. It seems like she's always in a bad mood. I'm sorry I'm not comfortable exposing my womanly parts to such an unpleasant person. Anyway I waited another 10 minutes and the nurse came in again and said she's sorry Dr DeSouza is still in there. I waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes and still was not seen. I got dressed and left the room. I stopped by the front desk and told the woman there I had been waiting for so long and still was not seen and it's not right. She said Dr DeSouza had an emergency. Now I was really upset. Was it an emergency or was she doing a consultation? Was she even there? This is the not the first time this happened. I had issues in the past with waiting for extended periods of time. I would have been okay if someone came in and said Dr DeSouza had an emergency and had to leave can you reschedule? I lost 3 hours of work yesterday because of this. Dr DeSouza is an amazing doctor but I cannot keep going through this. Many times in the past I have specifically stated I wanted to see Dr DeSouza and I confirmed the appointment was made with Dr DeSouza and when I ot there Giselle came in the room. This is not right. Dr DeSouza is a good doctor but if I cannot see her, why should I keep visiting this office? There are plenty other great doctors out there. Unfortunately I'll have to find one.

She was great. Came right from an emergency sea section and had a room full of patients that were pregnant. I think she shares the space with other doctors who may or may not work underneath her. This was my first obgyn visit as I am getting married in sept 2017, she made me feel very comfortable. The video's we not as informative as I was hoping they'd be - they do include different birth control options, what a pap smear is & etc.
Her team was nice and I overall enjoyed the visit. She wasn't able to get my pap-smear done but she was informative, kind & gentle. I highly recommend.

I think the doctor (DeSouza) is wonderful, which is why I waited a very long time ( over an hour in the treatment room) to be able to see her. They asked if I would see her associate, but I don't know her and didn't make my appointment with her. Last year I didn't get to see the doctor but the nurse practitioner was available so I saw her rather than wait an extra hour. I don't think I'm being unreasonable in wanting to see Dr. DeSouza for my once a year (annual) check-up!

I had a very sensitive situation but Dr. Alison and her team took great care of me. They were genuinely caring and made sure I was well taken care of. The office staff is nice and I never waited more than 15 minutes to be seen.
