Dr. was nice but was not dressed as expected. At exam, he didn't ask many questions. Just based on my reason for visit, he did a quick look with his light- gave me a vague answer, prescribed medication and just told me to see my PCP for testing. Of course, ruling out cancer- which was my main reason for scheduling was the best news he gave. Keep in mind- no testing was done. Otherwise, staff was friendly and helpful.

I love this doctor. I could see him every day with a different skin issue. He’s smart, professional and very experienced, but also warm and human. Kind of an old breed in that sense. The office staff is great, too.

More about Dr. Allen Sapadin, MD
Dr. Allen N. Sapadin graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva Univeristy and received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Prior to accepting a research fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Sapadin attended Rutgers Law School and graduated with honors.
He returned to Mount Sinai to complete a dermatology residency and served as Chief Resident in his third year. While a resident he earned many awards, including election to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society. Each year this honor is bestowed upon three of six hundred residents at Mount Sinai Medical Center. In his third year of residency Dr. Sapadin was chosen by the American Academy of Dermatology to represent the United States at the annual British Association of Dermatologists meeting.
Following his residency, Dr. Sapadin joined the full-time faculty at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. There he earned the prestigious Solomon Silver award for excellence in clinical medicine.
Dr. Sapadin is an internationally-known researcher whose curriculum vitae includes over 100 publications. He lectures widely at national and international meetings and is frequently invited by hospitals to give “Grand Rounds” presentations. Most recently, Dr. Sapadin edited a theme issue for the Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine that is entirely devoted to Dermatology.
Dr. Sapadin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Attending at Hackensack University Medical Center, and resides in Englewood, N.J. with his family.

Skin problems are usually a touchy subjects for many of us who suffer from these conditions. While I haven't been to a dermatologist in many years due to the sensitivity of the issue, i ended up booking an appointment with Dr. Sapadin because a review here stated that "he was attentive and listened to the problem".
Facility is clean and clean; staff was nice enough. Off the bat I requested to see the doctor alone and after waiting for about 20 minutes the doctor came in with who I suspect is an internist. While I had an option to allow the internist in, I almost felt a little pressured to do so as they were both already in the room and wanted to get to talk about the issue.
I'd say the consultation itself was between 5 - 10 minutes, which felt very rushed and distant. From a practical standpoint, my questions were somewhat answered but I can't say I left the facility satisfied. While I was supposed to follow up on a few weeks I'll try to find another dermatologist.

It bothered me that there was no screening for Covid-19 upon entering the office.
Temperature was not taken, nor were there any questions about my health or if I'm been around anyone diagnosed with Covid-19.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Sapadin & visiting this office. The reception staff was very unwelcoming & I was not greeted with a smile. I waited in the wait room for around 20 minutes. Then an assistant took me to the exam room where I was asked the basic questions about my visit. After she left I waited for over 45 mins in the exam room. Dr. Sapadin finally entered with 2 other members of the staff...not sure if they were assistants or interns but no one gave me a heads up or an introduction to them which made me feel uncomfortable. It was VERY awkward especially after having to wait 40+ mins to be seen. Dr. Sapadin seemed like he was in a rush...I had 2 areas of concern that I wanted to discuss which was 1. written in my visit paper work & 2. Communicated to the assistant while she asked the basic questions. After talking through my first concern the doctor was ready to leave the exam room until I stopped him to discuss my 2nd concern. He didn’t ask if I had any questions, etc. the other 2 staff members just stood there and stared. They all exited but did not tell me I was all set with my visit & closed the door behind them as they left...again very awkward. After awkwardly sitting in the exam room once again, I had enough. I left and asked one of people that were in the exam room with me if I was done...and she said yes...
For a bit more context my second concern was in regards to skin texture concerns & treatment so that my skin would be as close to perfect for my wedding the following year. It seemed like the doctor did not thoroughly look at my skin nor ask me about my routine or any sensitivities, etc.
My whole experience was horrible. I went to the reception to make sure I was all cleared & that there wasn’t anything additional that was needed from me. The man at the desk did not make eye contact & gave me a 1 word answer. No one was friendly nor did it seem like anyone cared about the patients.
I would NOT recommend this facility or the doctor.
