Austin Area OB/GYN is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Alyson Garcia to our family of highly accomplished physicians. Dr. Garcia is a native Austinite who completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas where she was part of the UT Rowing team. She then attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and was Chief Resident while training at Parkland Hospital.
Dr. Garcia is thrilled to return home to Austin with her husband and son and plans to build her practice by providing excellent care while fostering a relationship with her patients that is based on trust. She feels that women’s healthcare is an area of medicine where she can have a unique relationship with her patients on their journey through life- from the native Austinite who completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas where she was part of the UT Rowing team. She then attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and was Chief Resident while training at Parkland Hospital.
Dr. Garcia is thrilled to return home to Austin with her husband and son and plans to build her practice by providing excellent care while fostering a relationship with her patients that is based on trust. She feels that women’s healthcare is an area of medicine where she can have a unique relationship with her patients on their journey through life- from the teenage years where a young woman learns how to trust and interact with their doctor to the postmenopausal age when the mature woman has concerns that are specialized and require someone who is sensitive to their needs. Dr. Garcia is fluent in Spanish.

My appointment was at the end of their work day, right before Christmas break and I think everyone was eager to end the day. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that my rushed appointment was a fluke, but I decided to find a new doctor that I got a better first impression of. There was nothing in particular that was bad about the doctor or the staffs' treatment of me. I just sort of got the feeling my questions were annoying and that my pretty basic concerns weren't worth their time. I only spent a few minutes with the doctor and left feeling dumb and embarrassed.

I was pleasantly surprised with the efficiency and professionalism of the entire office. My wait time was not long and they even got me in for a mammogram immediately after my exam even though I didn't have one scheduled. I also really liked Dr Garcia. She was straight forward and down to earth and made the whole experience minimally awkward.

Dr. Garcia is fantastic. Very personable, alert, and clearly knowledgeable . She made me so comfortable and like I was in good hands. I was getting an IUD insertion and she was able to make me feel at ease throughout a uncomfortable procedure. Even though I need to come back and try again, it was not weird and I feel confident going back.

Dr. Garcia was awesome! So friendly and nice. I felt like I could talk to her about anything. She immediately makes you feel welcome and comfortable. The office that she is in is really nice and clean, calming and easy to navigate. I was seen within 5 minutes of walking in the building. Dr. Garcia and her nurse (I believe her name was Marisa) were VERY attentive. I felt as though they genuinely cared. As a young woman, seeing a new doctor can be awkward and uncomfortable and I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Dr. Garcia. Will definitely being going back.

I only wish there was a higher option than "Excellent" for bedside manner. This was my first gyno appointment ever, and I was not totally thrilled. Dr. Alyson Garcia made me as comfortable as possible. She cared for me, explained everything to me and listened to me with concern and real answers. I'm so happy to have found her. I'm seeing her next week :) If you're looking for someone who will be genuine and personable, she's your first stop!

My appointment with Dr. Garcia went very well! Initially, I was a bit nervous visiting a new Gyno, but she made me feel extremely comfortable, answered all of my questions in their entirety, and went above and beyond to accommodate me. Dr. Garcia was extremely friendly, personable, and attentive. I waited no more than 5 minutes, and the physician's assistant was very friendly and knowledgeable as well.

She was great. From the number of folks in her waiting room, she seems to have a large roster. Despite schedules running a bit behind, Dr Garcia gave me her full attention during our appt, answered all my questions, and was incredibly warm and friendly. She's younger than past obgyns I've seen and more energetic, which I found refreshing and comforting. I would see her again and highly recommend her.
