I am very happy with how my appointment went. Amanda Deardorff was friendly and warm. She took the time to listen to all my questions and concerns and was happy to work with me on my desire for a more natural approach to my healthcare. I have had previous doctors who made me feel rushed and just wanted to give me a pill for every problem, so this approach to women's healthcare is a breath of fresh air. I would definitely recommend her to others.

Since childhood, Amanda knew she wanted to become a midwife The daughter of missionaries, Amanda lived around the world with a large part of her childhood in Bucharest, Romania. In Bucharest, she pioneered the role of a doula and attended many births in the state-run hospitals.
In 2006, Amanda finished her bachelor degree of science in nursing from Azusa Pacific University. During her undergraduate training, she also became a DONA International certified doula. She completed an intensive RN residency program in the emergency department of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles where she worked for two years.
Frontier University’s distance midwifery program allowed her to travel the world while completing her master’s degree. She moved to Seattle with her husband Nate (her best friend, an incredible drummer and a fabulous massage practitioner) in 2010. Amanda fell in love with the Seattle midwifery community at local practice “Midwife Seattle” where she worked in full-scope midwifery for nearly two years.
This has been a pivotal season for Amanda as she launched her women’s health practice “Healthy Woman Seattle” and a grassroots childbirth education company “Flourish” with friends Jennifer Laird and Melanie Parsons, LM. Amanda’s other certifications include: Dancing for Birth certified instructor and DONA International certified birth doula.
