After years of uncontrolled diabetes Dr.P got it under control, no insulin shots oral meds and diet. Lost 25lbs! I a, very satisfied.
This is my second time visiting Dr. Purhoit as I thought I would give him a second chance The first time my wait was almost three hours I left before seeing the doctor because after a 45 minute wait the gracious assistant administrators informed me it could be at least two more hours before I saw the doctor A completely frustrating waste of my time!
Dr was knowledgable spent time explaining things. He explained the Meds he was prescribing and advised of possible side effects. Since I am hearing challenged and the Dr speaks very softly I was glad my husband was with me to help me maneuver questions and answer them correctly.
It was good. I hope he can help me
The manager of the office was most insensitive, rude, uncaring, and unprofessional. The office was so crowded there were no seats. The staff at the desk did not seem to be able to calculate the wait. I did have great amount of sympathy for the staff working at the front desk, as it was clear the manager intimidated them. Dr Purohit's office manager said that the wait (I waited for 4 hours) was unavoidable. She shrugged and told a man who, at that point was waiting for 3 hours, that if he did not like it he could go to the ER. This man explained to the manager that (he was upset at this point but not he was not out of control) he is missing his dialysis appointment; the manager responded that she would call the police. When I signed in I noticed that 3 patients the exact same time of my appointment. Dr Purohit is great but I cannot believe he is unaware of how his patients are treated. This baffles me. The office manager has to manage*the scheduling visit. If all the patients scheduled show up that day plus there are emergencies, the office staff needs to reschedule patients and to the best of their ability estimate the wait to see the doctor. *I have received a call to remind and confirm my schedule appointments with Dr Purohit.
I did not enjoy my experience here. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the wait time was about an hour from when I arrived. The doctor did not really listen to my concerns, nor did he make me feel comfortable. He asked me questions and examined me while accompanied by a teenage male, who was typing on the computer. I was not asked if this was okay, or even informed that he would be there. It was uncomfortable to answer some intimate questions with the doctor's demeanor and with the teenage male present. He was not very thorough either. Furthermore, the doctor's phone rang during my appointment and he answered it and then hung up as if it were just a telemarketer. I would understand if it had been an urgent medical call, but this was not the case and so I found it quite unprofessional. I would not recommend seeing this doctor.
Very unsatisfactory. The worst was that during both times, without asking to see whether or not I was comfortable with this, Dr. Purohit was accompanied by a male teenager during my visit with the doctor. During one of these visits I was instructed to remove my top and bra, while this boy, continuously texting someone, was in the room. When I asked if this happened to be a medical student or someone associated with the medical profession, I found out that he was - get this - their computer data assistant. I will not be back.
Pur wait was over an hour. I wish i knew then i would have eaten before.
Seems very professional, nice manners.
I will continue to follow up with Dr. Purohit. He was very thrower while collecting my medical information and also listened to what my symptoms were in order to start a treatment plan.
Visit was good but the wait time is consistently over an hour
GREAT DOCTOR. VERY THOROUGH AND POLITE HIGHLY RECOMMEND. DO PREPARE TO WAIT A BIT PAST YOUR SCHEDULE TIME
Terrible bed side manners, doesnt take the time to listen to the patient's concerns, very dismissive to my concerns, wasnt able to find my diagnosis!
The doctor is wonderful, his staff on the other hand is NOT!! Very Very rude workers. You could hardly reach anyone on the phone and when you do you have to deal with employees attitude. To be completely honest, this place is not worth a visit with how the employees act. I usually don't write reviews but I definetly had to share my opinion!
He is a very kind and patience doctor.
I thought visit was terrible, sat in waiting room for 2-3 hours before getting checked, then another 30-40 minutes or so with doctor taking 10 minutes to ask 1 question while he went back to reading whatever book/index/reference/etc. and solved nothing for me. Staff was hard to understand as wel as rushing people in and out and not fully explaining questions. Please, take any advice if reviewing this, I never ever leave reviews but I felt the need to warn others so that they may avoid a 4 hour doctors visit to have little to nothing accomplished.
Dr. Purohit makes all the distress and anxiety of feeling sick all melt away. After three visits, I feel totally confident that I am going to get better, and soon! I feel better already. The staff is pleasant and very helpful, the location convenient, and the office clean and comfortable.
Fantastic as always!
I love Dr. Purhoit, although his wait times are awful and his staff seems highly unorganized. I had trouble conceiving a child due to a thyroid disease and Dr. Purhoit successfully diagnosed and treated me and now - almost 1 year after I first saw him - I have a beautiful, healthy baby boy and I can thank in large part Dr. Purhoit for this. Because of my disease, I had to see him frequently for a healthy pregnancy - he may have been more important than my OB/GYN. For that, I will wait hours for him. When I was looking for an Endocrinologist, he was the only one who didn't make me wait months for an appointment. He takes his time and is thorough when he is with you. Very sweet man.
The doctor was thorough. Which was appreciated, especially after waiting for three hours. His staff is top notch! The ladies at the front reception area were incredibly pleasant and I witnessed them go above and beyond for the patients that called and those that came in with a problem. For that reason I stuck it out and waited the three hours! I knew if I ever needed something, the staff would be readily available to me.
He overbooks people, and spends time meandering on irrelevant details. Even his diagnosis is sketchy. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's not a great doctor.
Dr Amar is the best doctor I have been! I highly recommend him!
I couldn't believe how long I had to wait to finally be seen by the Dr. They don't draw blood in their office, rather, they send you to outside labs that are both inconvenient and not always efficient. I brought numerous records to my appointment and had my weight taken just the day prior and also numerous times the prior week by my other physicians, yet they persisted with trying to force me to use their scale, as if I were lying to them.( I was very nauseated and dizzy from waiting over an hour in the hot office, as my other health issues are worsened by sitting for long periods and being in hot settings) and didn't understand their insistence just to get the exact same info I got just the day prior, and was offended that they didn't trust me, it was a bit off-putting & made me uncomfortable(why would I lie about something that could help him treat my condition?) The Dr. seemed knowledgeable and thorough though, so I will give them another chance and hopefully won't have to wait a long time or have an issue with them trusting my medical history in the future. They are located conveniently to the subway and they are good with confirming appointment times and communicating regarding any questions or appointment details. They also have a range of appointment time frames and availability later in the day, which is also a plus.
He is a great doctor. I highly recommend him!
He's a nice doctor and somewhat thorough but is NEVER on time. I've waited 1.5 - 2 hours to see him. The office staff is HORRIBLE and completely disorganized. It's even worse if you have to call and ask for something (ie. prescription refill, etc.). You typically have to call multiple times and often I receive the greeting, "We're busy. Call back." It's taken me WEEKS and several phone calls. to get my files transferred to another doctor. Will never go back.
Great doctor, great staff. Very timely and efficient and answered all of my questions. I didn't feel rushed at all.
This guy was a class act. Very friendly and listens well. You might wait a bit, being that its a small office. However, it worth the wait, because of the amount of attention he gives you, first class attention to detail! Also, his staff were super friendly and cool.
I would never recommend this doctor we waited almost three hours for a 3 minute visit, with absolutely no apology or reference to the time I had been waiting. Definitely not worth the wait.
He was so patient and very professional!
Waiting for Dr. Purohit can be quite a while, but he's the sweetest man, and worth the wait!. He listens and takes his time with you. Just the best guy!
Great as always!
The office feels very haphazardly run. The nursing assistant who sat in the appointment complained about not being able to drink her coffee while it was hot, and didn't even greet or acknowledge me. This was after I waited 100 minutes to be seen, which they conveniently blamed on a patient emergency, though they were clearly running late from the start. Totally unacceptable overall.
He knows what he is doing and listens to what you have to say
Wonderful and caring doctor. Patient and really attentive.
This visit was ok, not outstanding. My real issue is that I was sent for blood work due to abnormal Thyroid levels and when I tried to call back to either get my results from him or to even schedule another appt to see him, no one has ever answered the phone or bothered to call me back. That was over 6 months ago. I find that extrememly unprofessional.
He is a good doctor but you have to wait forever to see him.
they didnt take my insurance and i went there for nothing they were horribly rude to me i literally had to show them that they had listed they took my insurance on the website they arent very nice here
Dr. Purohit is exactly what you want in a doctor.
Lovely as always.
Very nice man. He was understanding and comforting during a rough time for me. Exhibited knowledge and a direct plan of action was explained. Going back for a follow-up.
unorganized and the wait time is ridiculous. Probably also because the patients themselves are mostly retired guys who are not in a "rush". I can during my lunch hour from office and regretted spending an hour waiting. Also, btw the doc doesnt have a blood lab inhouse. so, you might have to copay again for an outside blood lab
The Dr gave me his back most of the time he spent in the room in which i did not think was professional. He had a staff member in the room and did not care to explain why she was there during my examination. He wasn't too clear while explaining certain things.
he listened to exactly what I said and asked, & he answered all of my questions that I had. He knew exactly what he was talking about & he didn't rush to give me any medication. Overall I am glad I chose him, and will stick with him.
Rude doctor, and rude and incompetent staff. The rude people in his office don't know how to conduct themselves and have no concept of customer service. On top of that, Dr Purohit himself is extremely unprofessional, his beside manner is brusque, and he wrote me a prescription that he refused to call in a pre authorization for which makes absolutely no sense. Not to mention that this man can't even bother to see his patients at the designated appointment time. My first visit had me waiting at least 2 hours. DON'T COME HERE.
He was very thoughtful and thorough in his approach. I am very pleased to have found him. The wait time, however, is ridiculous.
Amazing sweet and thorough. Only thing is that you will have to go to an outside lab for bloodwork. But takes his time, and not quick to give you scripts, until he is sure of the underlying conditions always a good sign in this day and age.
While the wait was right at 60 minutes or maybe even longer than that, the doctor was extremely thorough and gives the patient his undivided attention and asked numerous questions to make sure that all areas are covered.
I made an appointment with Dr. Purohit and still had to wait over an hour and half. Overall, the consultation went well, however the waiting time needs to be improved.
Waiting time was atrocious, with no time updates given, even though there were very few other patients and the doctor was socializing with the staff. The doctor was glib, uninterested, vague and unhelpful when discussing a condition that turned out to be somewhat serious.
Great doctor! Incompetent staff.
The staff screwed up my appointment times multiple times and were rude when then I had to reschedule.
He's a nice doctor who cares
He was a Doctor who knew his business. He spent time with you and he was very thorough
He was very kind and informative.
I am impressed by this doctor. He is careful, asks many questions, explains thoroughly and seems caring. He really takes his time with each patient and I didn't feel rushed, unlike my experience with many other doctors. I left feeling confident that he is giving me the best treatment.
Finally seem to have found an endo that knows what hes talking abt... especially thyroid related issues.. takes his time.. very calm.. listens to your concerns and complaints.. you will leave his office feeling content.
Great - no complaints!
There was a delay due to an earlier emergency, but I was told about it and was able to go make a bank deposit a few blocks away. When I returned, I was told I was next, and a couple of minutes later I was in the examination room. Everyone was gracious and friendly and I felt they were waiting for me.
I would totally recommencement Dr. Purohit! He is very knowledgeable and will take the time to answer all of your questions.
Dr Purohit was patient and thorough and answered my questions when asked.
