I am now 3 months post L4-5 fusion. I underwent surgery after receiving 5 lumbar epidurals that were no longer providing relief. All of my radiating pain and numbness was resolved within days of surgery. I have gone from being unable to stand or walk for more than 5 minutes to now taking daily 3 mile walks. I highly recommend Dr. Rajadhyaksha.

I would say I am not happy on my first visit with this doctor. I waited for almost 2 hours to see him and it took only 5 minutes to see me. Very unprofessional.

I’m 26 and have been dealing with chronic neck pain for over a year. Went to go see dr amar and had X-rays done at his office. He was very rushed, looked at the X-rays and told me that people live with pain & that it’s just part of growing up & to not spend all of my time sitting in doctors offices. I felt defeated. Months later I went to see another doctor that also did X-rays and found I have cervical kyphosis.

I have been dealing with back pain for years and I finally mustered up enough guts to find out what's going on (sometimes you don't want to admit there's a problem). I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment and was told I had 5 other patients waiting in front of me ( I'm guessing their appointments generally don't run on time). I was not happy about that but despite my unhappy face, the front desk staff was helpful and kind. The x-ray tech was polite and respectful, and the PA was great in trying to get a good understanding about my concerns relating to back pain. He seemed to genuinely care. As for Dr. Amar- He spent between 5-10 minutes with me. Didn't ask any questions about how I was feeling or seemed to care about seeing me. Looked at my x-ray- immediately suggested back surgery, prescribed physical therapy for a month (to see if that works first) and wrote a prescription for pain medication; all in that order. I have never seen a specialist for my back, so to hear the words "surgery" was pretty scary for me. He didn't explain what it would do for me or the procedure. I felt rushed. The back pain has become more severe in the last few weeks. This whole experience just made it more unpleasant. Based on previous patient reviews, I expected more.

I like Dr. Amar, but his office is horrible to deal with. Long, long wait times, both in the waiting room and once I was moved back to a room. Every time I was there, I was kept waiting for very long times, only to have less than 5 minutes with the doctor.
Dr. Amar ordered a couple of scans that had to be approved by insurance, but the staff at the office was absolutely incompetent at following up on the approval/denial. I had to wait almost a MONTH before I could get the scans done. The person responsible for submitting the request to my insurance would never follow up with them to see if they had all the documentation they needed, so they kept denying the request because of lack of information. I had to keep calling insurance and keep calling the doctors office to tell them "insurance says they've not received anything." Once it was approved, I found out that she'd requested approval for a facility that couldn't even do both of the scans, so I had to get it changed myself!
I've dealt with two doctors in this office, and I'm never going back! The last time (with another doctor), I was kept waiting in the waiting room more than an hour after my appointment, waited for a while once in the room, and then (I timed it) had literally TWO MINUTES with the doctor. Never again!

He was very upfront and gave some advice. Unfortunately he does not handle my kind of cases anymore but has extensive knowledge of it. I have adult scoliosis and will be needing full spinal correction. Great guy very nice.

Although it was a long wait(I am a new patient so I showed up 30min before to fill out papers-Appt was at 3:15 and entered room at 3:58 ) Dr. Lee saw me first and was very helpful and answered most of my questions from the start before taking X-rays. After seeing him, I met with Dr. Amar who was very professional and friendly. I definitely recommend Dr. Amar and his staff!

Front office staff needs to be a little bit more humane. They need to remember that the patients on the other side are the ones that pay the salary. Nothing done to me personally but to others, plain disrespectful. Im from New York so I can return smart ass questions & answers with the best.

The question should be the visit with the office Miami Institute for Joint Reconstruction (Miami, FL) in Kendall 11801 SW 90th Street Suite 201 Miami, FL 33186. Very long wait. I got there early so that I can fill the paper work, but I ended up waiting over an hour to be called. Plan ahead if you are a big fan of one of the doctors in this office.
