Amie’s interest in nutrition began in her very first nutrition class, where she discovered that nutrition allows her to be both analytical and creative. Her training in Medical Nutrition Therapy supports clients with a variety of conditions such as kidney disease, hypertension, and disease prevention/wellness. Amie has a particular passion for kidney disease and the prevention of its progression. She believes that all people deserve nutritional care and practices with a motivating, client-centered approach. Amie feels that understanding the "why" behind nutrition, and then allowing a person to determine what is important, enables lasting, enjoyable changes that benefit their health. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and completed a Master’s Degree from the University of Kansas. Amie enjoys adventure and beach vacations, as well as anything creative and wellness-focused!
