Dr. Rafizad is board certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology with extensive background in medicine. He is especially interested in Interventional Pain management in addition to traditional methodes.
After completing his traditional internship training at Cook County Hospital, Dr. Rafizad enrolled in Anesthesiology training in that program. During the last year of his training he was honored as Chief Resident and Researcher of the year. Being trained by Dr. Alan P. Winnie - one of the founding fathers of the society of pain management and regional anesthesia - greatly influenced his interest in pain management as his sub specialty. He subsequently completed his fellowship training in Pain Management at UCLA Medical Center under direct leadership of Dr. Michael F. Ferrante, current president of the society of Pain Management and regional Anesthesia. He then co-founded his private Pain Management practice with DR. Reza Mahrou in Orange County while staying at "West Los Angeles Veterans Affarin Medical Center" as attending staff for Pain Management and Anesthesiology.
