Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable, nevertheless he only spoke about surgery. Even after I expressed my concerns, he never spoke about trying physical therapy, cortisone shot or other option first.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Patel for pregnancy induced carpal tunnel and he was great. For context I was in a ton of pain and hadn't slept the night before because of it. When I got to the office the receptionist was welcoming, professional and kind. There was a bit of a wait but he was in an emergency surgery, so was to be expected and he was apologetic about the wait. He listened to my concerns, did a thorough exam, took his time while setting realistic expectations. I didn't feel rushed at all and he explained every step of the process, while giving me options, and explaining the risks. In the end, I walked out feeling a thousand times better than I had walking in. I would highly recommend this practice and Dr. Amit Patel.

I was able to get my 90 year old mother some peace of mind. They were able to X-ray to rule out any fractures and ultimately referred to a Rheumatologist. I had no success getting her appointment right away with a rheumatologist but when I called this hand specialist she was seen in a day. He did what he could for her hopefully the meds he prescribed will give her comfort until she can be seen by a rheumatologist. The office was clean, Dr Patel had emergency surgery was the office called to alert us he would be running a little late. As we left, we could see them washing chairs down, keeping things clean and sterile.

I didn’t get the sense that he dealt with carpal tunnel syndrome at all. I was being pushed into surgery and no cortisone shot. I felt like he’d never done one before because he kept telling me all the reasons why it wouldn’t work. I was scared. He gave me a shot and it has worked, though I know it’s temporary, but I was very afraid.
