Dr. Badwan was born and raised right here in Raleigh, North Carolina. He graduated from Garner Senior High School in 1999. He went to graduate with honors from North Carolina State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Biological Sciences in 2003. He later earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2007, while also earning a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science in 2006. Dr. Badwan practiced Optometry in Northern Virginia for 3 years, before returning to North Carolina in early 2010. Since 2010, he has been providing primary eye care to his patients in the heart of the Research Triangle Park.
Dr. Badwan is passionate about treatment and management of ocular diseases, delivering primary eye care to the overall population, and providing children with proper early eye care to help their visual system develop properly. He is certified in different Orthokeratology techniques including Paragon's Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT).
His clinical rotations included the world renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and a specialty Pediatric Clinic at Nova Southeastern’s Davie Campus. He is proficient in Arabic, English, and Spanish Eye Examinations. In his spare time Dr. Badwan enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and playing sports.

Dr Badwan made us feel right at home, he has a great personality and is very easy to talk to. My 12 year old son wanted to try contacts for the first time. Dr B took his time to explain the different types of contacts and how to care for them. Chandler gave excellent instructions during the contact fitting. My son was very quick to learn how to put in and take out the contacts. Dr B even came out while his assistant was helping both kids pick out glasses, he picked some out for them to try on too. Everyone in his office is so friendly and very helpful. We had excellent service all around.

We met Dr. Badwan when we moved here 4 years ago and we will never go anywhere else. He sees my whole family including my two boys, ages 13 and 5. He has a wonderful "bedside" manner, makes us laugh, and keeps current on new technology and trends in eyecare. I never feel like he or his staff are trying to upsell their products and my boys actually look forward to seeing him! And he does a great Donald Duck voice- what more could you want?
