Dr. Ammar Hashmi is a board-certified and fellowship trained general, vascular and endovascular surgeon. He specializes in aortic dissection, carotid disease, spine exposure, limb salvage/peripheral arterial disease, creation and maintenance of hemodialysis access, thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm, trauma, varicose vein and lymphatic disorders and visceral revascularization.
Dr. Hashmi earned his medical degree from Dow Medical Group in Karachi, Pakistan. He started his journey as an international research fellow at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He completed his general surgery internship at Central Michigan University in Saginaw, Michigan. He received the "Young Investigator Award" from the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Dr. Hashmi finished his general surgery residency with professionalism and scholarship accolades and then stayed on to complete his vascular and endovascular surgery fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He joins us from the University of Texas Health and Sciences Center at San Antonio where he served as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Hashmi’s clinical interests include aortic dissection, abdominal aortic aneurysm, aortoiliac disease, carotid artery stenosis, peripheral arterial disease/limb salvage, oncologic reconstructions, spine exposure and hemodialysis access creation.
