Amy Zhang is a concerned and caring ophthalmologist based in Cleveland, Euclid, Hudson, Mayfield Hts,Bedford and Westlake, OH. Dr. Zhang obtained her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She also completed her internship at Michigan State University, Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. She then completed residency in ophthalmology at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital followed by fellowship in glaucoma at Henry Ford Hospital.
Dr. Zhang is a part of UHMG Opthalmology. Dr. Zhang is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Her areas of interest reflect both the glaucoma and cataract specialties, including minimally invasive glaucoma procedures and traditional filtering procedures.
Dr. Zhang is the subcommittee glaucoma liaison for the Young Eye Surgeons of the American Cataract and Refractive society. She has published in Archives of Ophthalmology and Experimental Eye Research. Additionally, she is a reviewer for peer review journal. It's hard to say because she maybe spent 3 minutes with me. The assistant and another dr ( who seemed like he was new or maybe not really a dr yet) did everything. They did ok but, I went to see Amy Zhang which didnt really happen. There were so many people there. In the waiting room and also in the examination rooms. It was crazy. They said several people came an hour late which put them behind. They need to make some big changes. Found out she can only prescribe very simple glasses. She can't order prisims. She ripped up mine snd said I had to go somewhere else.

All the eye doctors at UH have been fantastic dealing with the trauma I experienced with my eye. Dr. Zhang has been especially concerned about the pressure In my eye and did surgery to put a drainage tube in to relieve the pressure. I was nervous but she showed confidence in herself which helped me to relax.
She seems much too young to be so knowledgeable but she is very good at what she does.

She was pleasant. I was late for my appointment by 15 minutes, unfortunately. I did call in advance to let the receptionist know. After almost an hour of waiting, and sitting in an empty waiting room, which was once full of patients, I went to the receptionist desk. I asked the receptionist if I were forgotten about. The receptionist said she go check to see where the were at on the list with patients... I should be seen shortly, etc. Within a minute, doctors aid promptly started my exam. I asked her, was I forgotten about?, she said, well, you were 20 minutes late, according to what was written upon arrival, and put to the back of the end of the list.
When I called to let the receptionist know, in advance I'd be late, she said, as long as I'm within 15 minutes of my scheduled appointment, I'd be ok.
Obviously I was, since I was seen. Because someone is late for their appointment, and within 15 minutes after its scheduled time, They are put to the end of the list of patients. I'm happy I know this in advance, for my fellows who will seek UH for services. Especially, for my elderly friends. Thanks for your attention.
