Board certified in Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine, Dr. Pana has treated patients in a variety of settings since 1994. Before joining MedSpring, Dr. Pana most recently worked as a physician for the University of Texas Sports Medicine program and served as a Medical Director for a multi-site retail clinic in Austin, TX.
After receiving her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from George Washington University, Dr. Pana completed a Family Medicine Residency at UCLA and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. She also served as a physician in the U.S. Air Force.
Dr. Pana has treated athletes for every major college sport as well as professional and Olympic athletes. She served on the Board of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine from 2008-2012. Academically, Dr. Pana has been involved in the education of physician assistants, medical students, residents and athletic training students. She has several publications relating to concussions in athletes and has assisted in editing the 5 Minute Sports Medicine Consult.
In her free time, Dr. Pana enjoys swimming, walking, spinning and lifting weights. She also enjoys the movie and music festivals that Austin has to offer.
