Originally from a small town in Mississippi, Dr. Andrea J. Washington earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology / Pre-Medicine from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. After completion of her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis School of Optometry where she received her Optometry Degree (O.D.).
After successfully completing optometry school, she completed an optional one year residency in Family Practice at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her residency, she rotated through numerous clinics, including, primary care, glaucoma, retina, neuro-ophthalmology, cornea and contact lens, pediatrics and low vision.
In her optometric career, Dr. Andrea J. Washington has participated in numerous volunteer functions and has received numerous awards and honors.
Dr. Andrea J. Washington is a member of various optometric organizations which include, but are not limited to the American Optometric Association (AOA), American Optometric Association’s Cornea and Contact Lens Section, Georgia Optometric Association (GOA), & National Optometric Association (NOA).

The staff was very professional and polite. My wait time was under 5 minutes. The were direct and to the point and explained every step of the process thoroughly and precisely.
Mrs. Washington was very focused, professional, energetic and polite. She explained every step before she got started and was very informative and she moved from step-to-step during the process, She performed different techniques that were broad and then narrowed them down to determine the ones that I needed to give me a better understanding of what i needed to better assist me with my issues. I really appreciated that she took the time to do that so as to not put me in a box. Very Professional.

I see Dr. Washington for my yearly eye exams and am very pleased with her service. Her staff is always friendly and very helpful. I never have to wait long before seeing the doctor. Dr. Washington takes her time and does a thorough exam on me. She is also very helpful when it comes to suggesting and picking out frames that fit my face and looks good on me. I’ve never had to wait long to receive my glasses. I highly recommend Dr. Washington and her practice.
