Andrew Ko, M.D., is head of the UW Medicine Functional and Restorative Neurosurgery Program and a neurosurgeon with the Regional Epilepsy Center at Harborview Medical Center, as well as a UW assistant professor of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Ko specializes in general neurosurgery, functional and restorative neurosurgery, epilepsy, and neurosurgery for pain. He strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Ko earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington, followed by a fellowship in Neurosurgery at Oregon Health & Science University. His clinical interests include image-guided deep brain stimulation, open and stereotactic minimally invasive surgery for epilepsy, open and percutaneous treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, functional mapping of the brain, and surgery for brain tumors. His research interests focus on deep brain stimulation, functional neurosurgery, epilepsy, and pain.
