Andrew Casden is an experienced orthopedic surgeon serving his patients in New York City. Dr. Casden is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Scoliosis Research Society. Dr. Casden received his medical education from the Cornell University Medical College. He completed his surgical internship at the New York Hospital at the Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Casden completed his spine fellowship at the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. First visit - once he assessed that I probably don't need surgery - the visit was rather perfunctory

This doctor spent about 3 seconds listening to my problems and barely examining me and declared that he couldn't help me because he believed my problem was in my shoulder, not my spine, and he "only does spines." I saw a far better doctor later the same day who sent me for an MRI and surprise! The problem is a herniated disc in my spine. It fills me with rage that I wasted nearly three hours seeing this completely incompetent doctor only days after my C section. AVOID.

Reception Staff and PA (Justin) were friendly and helpful. Dr. Casden was abrupt and spent less than 10 minutes with me. I understand he's a busy man but, I got better treatment and more information from his staff!

Dr. Casden is an excellent spine surgeon. He performed revision surgery on my lower back. Two years prior, a different surgeon operated on me using the XLIF technique. This surgery failed and caused me severe nerve pain, a drop foot and pseudoarthrosis (failure to fuse).
Dr. Casden corrected this surgery and performed a laminectomy, facetectomy, decompression of L4-5, and removal of the cage and hardware from the previous surgery. Not only is he a great surgeon, but he has excellent bedside manner, always providing thorough answers to my questions and concerns. Six months after surgery, I was pain free and playing golf. I am so grateful to Dr. Casden and his staff for this successful surgery! I highly recommend him to anyone with back pain.

I came in the morning with sever back and leg pain. Dr. Casden made sure that I had an MRI done immediately and a treatment done the same day. I did not leave the clinic until everything was taken care off. Never had such a caring wonderful experience at a Dr. Highly recommended.
