Dr. Segal was very in depth with my history, asked detailed questions and did not at all make me feel rushed. I appreciated the in depth questioning and lengthy initial appointment as it made me feel he was very invested in my health. I believe I got comprehensive testing and feedback, he also let me know what habits I needed to change for my own health.

This was probably one of the worse if not the worst experiences I have had to date with a physician on the first visit. He threatened to not "take" me as a patient as though it was my privilege to be his patient. He then walked out to the waiting room and insulted my relative for now reason what so ever and did not even offer and apology. He said that my diabetes and heart condition was "too much" for him to handle and I should not try and "dump" my medical problems on him. When I tried to explain that his staff "Sema" and "Amber" had told me over the phone that my diabetes and heart conditions were fine and if I had any other issues he was going to refer me out to a specialist.....he rudely exclaimed that he would not refer me to any other doctors and that I needed to do all that on my own and not "bother" him with that. Sema and Amber his employees must really mean nothing to him and their word over the phone means nothing to new patients...what a joke of a physician he is. While he was insulting my relative he stopped mid sentence and started peeking out of the lobby blinds like someone was after him....what a strange man.BEWARE!!!

He left in the middle of my appt to tend to another one and didn’t return for over 15 minutes.
When he came in, his phone began ringing and he ACTUALLY TOOK THE CALL right next to me and was on it for over 5 minutes.
He was rude, very inattentive to what I was saying. I finally snapped when he said “well you said you were on this” and I was like “no, you asked what that doctor previously prescribed me and i said this” then he cut me off and said “i need to get the whole story” and i snapped and said well I went over this 2x when your staff and where were you? That’s when he FINALLY started getting treated nicely. I have NEVER witnessed a doctor being so unprofessional until my appt with him yesterday. His staff was super nice and friendly but I don’t trust him as a professional. Never again.

I had went to 3 different ERs with no luck. I booked the next appointment with Dr. Segal and after looking at all the paperwork from the ERs he knew what was wrong with me. He cares about the patient, and listens to everything and explains everything to help you understand what is going on, and what he is going to need to do. Very patient and caring.
January 13, 2017Mark M.Verified patient
Dr. Segal is rude to his staff and patients. He flips out at his staff if they do the slightest thing which is not to his pleasure, making for an awkward environment. The staff itself seems very nice and were courteous. Dr. Segal's bedside manner is poor. When I was getting bloodwork done, I was a bit nervous and he made a comment like "what, you've never had bloodwork done before?". He is very flippant when asked any question. He kept saying how he is a really good doctor and to trust him, however after my test came back with high cholesterol, he told me not to eat egg yolks (a quick Google search will tell you that the theory that egg yolks increase cholesterol has been thoroughly debunked).
The doctor also kept pressuring me to write a positive Zocdoc review, so I would question the authenticity of some of the reviews you see here.

Dr. Segal was very attentive and knowledgeable. I feel that I'm in good hands and he really appears to be concerned about what symptoms I've been experiencing. He really listened.

He was very rude and talked to me like I was ignorant. He wouldn't listen to anything I had to say until I told him I wasn't an idiot and told him my job description and college degrees. I think he bases the way he initially treats a patient off of stereotypes.

Andrew Segal is by far the worst Doctor I've ever seen, whenever a doctor has to start talking about his credentials you know something's wrong even his own nurse was fed upwith his antics I went in to get cleared for work and this idiot couldn't even understand the situation then he tells me he won't see me so I hung up on him!
January 20, 2016William K.Verified patient
He was very hard to talk to. He would not let me finish a answer. He talked to me as if I was child! He talked to me as if I was not doing everything to help my illness and gave the suggestion that I was using my illness to not work. I could not leave fast enough and will not go back! He talked to his staff even worse! If that is possible.

Dr. Segal has a good sense of humor along with the ability to make the patient feel very comfortable. I had my husband with me and the doctor took the time to ask a few questions about him. He answered my questions and told me in depth how he would proceed with my treatment. I think we are going to get along just fine.
More than 1 year agoLinda F.Verified patient
Staff pleasant, accomodating and professional. ..made me feel very comfortable, welcomed and cared for, right from the beginning. Dr Segal took full medical history, listened and asked questions, cared about my perspective, and took the time to diagram and explain all aspects of concerns and possibilities. Toward the end of the visit he recapped EVERYTHING we had discussed, making certain I understood the plan of action and more importantly, WHY we were embarking on this course.
All in all, very satisfied and I believe I am in good hands.

Dr. Segal is an excellent physician. He knew exactly how to cure what I had pertaining to my symptoms. The week before I went to Baylor hospital the doc there only gave me a steroid shot and NO Antibiotics. My symptoms worsen where I had NO voice and was feeling awful I hurt all over. Dr. Segal agreed to see me right away and knew what I needed to help me get back on my feet. A couple of days later I felt great. Because he was carrying and took the time to listen to me I since changed him to be my Primary care physician. I will NO longer go to Baylor hospital for any help! Thanks again Dr. Segal for being such a great physician.

Wow! I love Dr. Segal. He promised to "fix me" and I believe him. I am thin with no risk factors for heart disease, yet he is the first of nearly six doctors to get to the root of my chest pain. I cried inside his office because I finally felt vindicated. I am not suffering from anxiety. I have hypertension, high cholesterol, and angina. Thank God I found him in time.
April 7, 2015Angie R.Verified patient
I am a medical student that had a panic attack in December. My primary care physician said my ADD medication was off limits until I had done a blood test, urine analysis, chest X-ray, and seen a cardiologist. I used zocdoc to find the one with the soonest available appointment time, and followed up by reading the reviews.
I can honestly say I am very glad to have found Dr. Segal and his staff. Upon the first visit, Dr. Segal spent nearly an hour and a half speaking with me and getting to know me better. He was very patient and did not judge anything I said, nor did he appear to be in a rush so he can move on to another patient. He broke down every part of the EKG results and told me exactly what he was looking for. He is clearly very experienced with his field.
Dr. Segal offered to call my PCP and inform her of the findings. Over the next couple days he called me several times to make sure I had both his medication and the medication from my PCP. He requested that I let him know immediately if there was anything wrong, and that we would discuss what comes next in our follow up meeting. I cannot recommend Dr. Segal enough. He appears to be very passionate about his work and his patients.
March 19, 2015Ahmed A.Verified patient
The overall visit was great. The only issue I had was I was told that there would be no co-pay for a yearly exam over the phone, but when I got done, they charged me.

Dr. Segal was really professional, uderstanding and well versed with his specialized area of medicine. His assessment was thorough and well explained to me that I did not have much questions on what I went in for.He even made a f/u apt that I did not expect.
January 30, 2015Robinson M.Verified patient
He and his staff t was very pleasant right from the start not being from the area they helped me to find the clinic and once I arrived they went over the insurance paper work to make sure I understood my deductible. Then I met Dr. Segal he took time to ask questions about my medical history and preceeded to treat me with the simple medication as opposed to drawn out costly procedures he really is good as they come and very professional and kind. I would diffenitely go back to him from now on.
January 7, 2015Harrell H.Verified patient
Dr. Segal has been treating me for high blood pressure (stage 2 hypertension, and a probability of being diabetic) due to my heavy weight for the past eight months. And with his several diligent questions, and thorough processes with medication he was able to give me the best treatment to lower blood pressure, lower my weight, and eliminate any other concerns that would have set me back.
Saying that, you will need to be prepared to provide good answers, and follow his recommendations. He will also require further testing like sleep study, stress tests, and sonograms to list a few.
You will be in good hands with Dr. Segal, as long as you open up about your health, and habits so he can provide the healthcare you’re looking for.
December 26, 2014Wesley W.Verified patient
I was seen by the doctor for chest pain. His examination was very thorough. He took the time to explain everything to me. Which was a first, most doctors just tell you what's wrong and you have to assume it's right. I was being told by another doctor my BP and CHOLESTEROL were high, when I sat to discuss findings with him he explained in detail that they were not. He can be a little abrasive at times but I understand he's just trying to figure out why I'm having problems. I'll be going back for another appointment.

He was mean his beside manner was terrible he talks to his staff unprofessional and with no respect he criticized my weight and almost gave me a prescription that can kill me , even though my allergies were written on my chart . His office had a smell and I was very uncomfortable with his service and his attitude towards me and his staff. I strongly believe that zoc doc should remove him from their site.

The greatest Cardio specialist ever....not only straightforward and to the point, but he explains things in a level you can understand which is very important. You know what is going on with you because he sets out a treatment plan that allows you to feel productive and cared for in your current visit; therefore putting your mind at ease.
I whole heartedly believe that my father would be alive today if Dr. Segal would have been his Cardiologist. I trust this Doctor with my life.
Thank you Dr. Segal for sharing with us all your true gift from God.

Dr. Segal is very knowledgeable and patient with you. He's very thorough and will ask all kinds of questions and will listen to all of your answers. He doesn't rush you like some doctors do and he does his own blood drawing lol. I enjoy everytime I have to visit with him. I would recommend anyone with high blood pressure and other heart related problems to give him a try.

Dr. Segal is very thorough. He really takes time to understand the circumstances surrounding your illness or condition and explain his thoughts to you. He is very direct and no-nonsense, but he is also very warm and considerate. I trust that he knows what he is doing and wants the best outcome possible for me as a patient.

Dr. Segal is very knowledgeable and puts you at ease the moment he talks with you. He is thorough and listens. He is witty also! Enjoyed visiting with Dr. Segal and his staff. They were all very nice and extremely helpful. The zocdoc website had been down or was slow to get the appointment information to their office. Even though the appointment time that I'd chosen with zocdoc was an accurate time for them, they still took the time to see me and that says a lot!! It's not often that you get a whole office of people who care. I'm in the customer service business myself and they are number one in my book!
