Dr. Andrzej J. Janecki, a well known and respected Gastroenterologist in Katy and West Houston, received his M.D. degree in 1977 in Poznan, Poland, and his Ph.D. degree in physiology in 1981. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, and his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He has served as an Instructor of Gastroenterology at the Division of Gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. His research interest included mechanisms of intestinal water transport and absorption. He is an author or co-author of over forty research articles and several book chapters.
Dr. Janecki is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. He practices general gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition and his special interests include inflammatory bowel diseases and diarrheal diseases. He is an active staff member of Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, Methodist West Houston Hospital, and Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital.
Dr. Janecki enjoys spending time with his daughters, listening to classical music, and photographing nature.

Dr. Janecki was extremely kind and spent a lot of time explaining my condition as well as what to expect during my endoscopy. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a gastroenterologist.

Each of my three in office visits to date with Dr. Janecki have been positive experiences. He has a warm beside manner and good sense of humor, which is helpful and reassuring when one is dealing with worrisome health issues. I'm thankful to have found this physician!

I think the office staff is very friendly and professional. The doctor is very attentive and seems knowledgeable. He imminently dove into the steps to try to come up with a solution. He explained what he was doing, and why he was doing so. I'd highly recommend his practice!
The only reason we had a wait time was because of being a new patient. The other patients in the waiting room where being seen five minutes after their arrival. However, the time I had to wait was virtually nothing!

I was disappointed that I had to wait for 1 1/2 hours to see the Doc. and he only spent 5 or 10 minutes with me. In my opinion, if a doctor is performing surgery, he should not make appointments with patients on his surgery day.
He gave me his opinion but never said how he could fix my problem or what I can expect in the future. He could not answer my question in regards to my problem. But I was impressed with his tract record with regards to colonoscopies. I would probably trust him to do my colonoscopy as long as he promises me he would be the one doing the procedure and not someone else he may be training . It appears some doctors may do this.

I went to Dr. Janecki as a second opinion and after doing some research on providers and hospitals and it was quite a drive for me. He took the time to listen to my symptoms and didn't rush to a conclusion and quick and easy treatment recommendation. He wanted to rule out other possibilities before going straight to surgery that may or may not help like my previous doctor had done, which I appreciate even though more testing is not my idea of fun. It is worth the drive to have a doctor who knows what he is doing and can articulate a plan of action to the patient and keep the patient well informed.
