My wife had seen others for her stomach but Dr. Merlo was the one who did some simple tests that no other doctor thought to do. My wife's stomach is fine. And I do not hear any complaints. She takes great care of her patients.

Dr. Angela Merlo has been voted Top Doctor in Gastroenterology for the past consecutive five years. Dr. Merlo is an experienced specialist,expert at performing endoscopy and colonoscopy and the associated interventions such as biopsies, polyp removal and control of bleeding. Dr. Merlo offers non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures at her Digestive Health & Nutrition Center offices in Lawrenceville and Princeton. These tests include breath tests, wireless capsule endoscopy of the small intestine, and esophageal manometry. Dr. Merlo has particular expertise in diagnosing and treating abdominal pain, acid reflux, bacterial overgrowth, diarrhea, diverticulitis, gluten allergies and food intolerances, IBS, and ulcers. Dr. Merlo is a devoted instructor of medical students and residents-in-training and was awarded the position of Clinical Associate Professor UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

This is the worst experience I have had so far. Very disappointed with everything. Doctor’s bedside manner was really bad. She couldn’t diagnose anything or didn’t even come close. She kept giving round round answers rather than any sort of analysis. My suggestion is to not waste time and look for a Doctor who is empathetic and can actually help you with your health issue

Overall very unpleasant experience and I will be finding a new doctor!
My first initial video call with Dr. Merlo went well and I was excited to have a new doctors to help with my issues. But all of the interactions after that appointment were less than satisfactory. She was rude over the phone getting clear communication was difficult. She blamed me for having misinformation about an appointment which I found very unprofessional!

Dr. Merlo seemed very bored and unhappy. She was rude and inattentive. She refused to do anything for my problem because I didn't have a primary care doctor's name. I use a group that offers in-home care by nurse practitioners.
I clearly was of no interest to her. I found the entire experience very unpleasant and disappointing. I wanted to tell her off and slam the phone down, but I restrained myself.
And I still have daily, chronic diarrhea.

She was 13 minutes late and spent half the time talking about my weight/diet. I'm 10 lbs overweight. She asked what I expected, and I asked for a new solution. She was also extremely rude.

she was cold and unfriendly and very quick to cut me off. she kept herself professional so yes, that part of this review section holds true. she wasn’t reassuring or comforting and as someone who has suffered with stomach issues over the last few years, a rude and disengaged doctor is the last thing you want. it was disappointing and disheartening and i will not be returning.

Knowledgeable and professional doctor and staff! Seamless process getting an appointment with her and speaking with the receptionist. I can see that Dr. Merlo wants to get to the bottom of my health concerns as much as I do. She was attentive and communicated clearly with me without being judgmental or condescending, and is the first gastro I’ve ever had that truly listened to my concerns and asked the right questions thoroughly. Looking forward to getting some testing done with her in the coming month.
