Dr. Angela Umeorah, also known as Dr. Angy or Double Doc (she has two doctoral degrees), is a dual board-certified nurse practitioner trained in treating medical and psychiatric conditions. However, her practice focus is on Psychiatry.
Dr. Angy received her first nursing degree in 1992 from Texas Woman’s University Texas after obtaining a Ph.D from the University of Glasgow, Scotland -Great Britain in 1986. She graduated with a Summa Cum Laude in her first nursing degree- at the top of all her graduating classmates – on all campuses of Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Dallas, and Houston.
Dr. Angy has over 30 years of nursing experience including medical facilities, psychiatric hospitals and long-term care amongst others. She became a Nurse Practitioner in 2016. Her large expanse of clinical experience in health care is of immense use in her new role as a Provider-assessing, diagnosing, and treating her psychiatric clients. Some of the conditions Dr. Angy treats include but is not limited to Major Depression, Anxiety , Panic attacks, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, ADHD (WITH NON- STIMULANTS ONLY), PTSD, OCD, Eating disorders; Substance abuse, Health/Wellness coaching, Smoking Cessation, and Weight loss. Dr. Angy chooses not to prescribe ALPRAZOLAM/XANAX. She is also certified in providing therapies including Christian counseling.
Dr. Angy believes that every patients’ story is different and goes beyond the call of duty to get to know her patients and their supporting families, treating them with compassion as she would her own family. She provides culturally sensitive care across all ages.

Dr. Angy is truly one of a kind—both professionally and emotionally. As someone with many family members in the medical field, I’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible doctors, but none as exceptional as Dr. Angy. Initially, I chose her based on her qualifications and in-network status, but now I believe there were much deeper, spiritual reasons for that choice. From the moment I met her, she offered more than just expertise. She supported me through difficult thoughts without sugarcoating them, and her ability to listen—sometimes even before I spoke—was incredibly insightful. She celebrated my victories and guided me through challenges with such care and compassion. When our time together came to an end, she sent me on my way with nothing but positivity and good intent. I wholeheartedly recommend scheduling at least a consultation with her—she was an absolute blessing during a tough time in my life!
