Dr. Tignor received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell. She proceeded to complete fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women's Hospital where she was also a clinical fellow.
She concurrently received a Masters in Public Health with a focus in Clinical Effectiveness from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Tignor went on to advanced gastroenterology training in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) at the Johns Hopkins Hospital where she also served on faculty as Instructor in the gastroenterology division.

Dr. Tignor is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Areas of Interest:
In addition to general gastroenterology and hepatology, her areas of focus include pancreatic disorders, pancreatic cystic lesions and EUS-guided imaging and biopsy. I was very impressed with Dr. Tignor. This was my first appointment with her. She sat down and listened intently to my reasons for the appointment and then carefully addressed each of my concerns. She wasn't rushed in the slightest, and paid attention to even little details. I left there relieved to have found a doctor with whom I could be confident in my treatment.

I got in right away to see the doctor, and was out within 30 minutes. Dr. Tignor is very knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a GI doc.

Dr. Tignor is very clear and professional in her approach, and seems like a nice person. She doesn't waste time in getting you through the process, which could be seen as being very efficient but could also strike some as being perfunctory. She's probably just trying to help as many as she can in the time available. I never got the sense that she was uninterested in me or that she would cut corners to get on to the next patient.

I appreciate the doctor. I wish there were a way to communicate with her online. I'm glad I can make appointments online, but it would be so much easier for me to have a way to communicate with her - to get test results, for example, or to keep her updated on my situation without having to go to her office to do it. PLEASE set up a two-way communication method!

I would highly recommend Dr Tignor to anyone suffering from gastro issues. I had an upper endoscopy, which left me kind of scared, but the staff was so wonderful and kept me distracted and feeling relaxed. Before I knew it, it was all over.

Dr. Tignor is amazing. She is incredibly smart with great bedside manner. As a medical student, I can tell she is asking all the right questions and performing the proper physical exams including checking the lungs for common complications of GI issues. She spent over 20 minutes with me going through my issues, explaining the details about different diagnosis, and thought of some tests I never would have considered to be complete. I completely recommend her. The office is beautiful, but it was a bit annoying to have to fill out paperwork again when I got there so don't waste your time on zoc doc doing it

I think she is great! I have been to several physicians regarding my symptoms and she is the only one that isn't dismissive of the food allergies and effects of gluten. In fact she was proactive regarding the potential gluten allergy. Very thorough in her interview and explained every step of the physical assessment and subsequent testing.

Dr. Tignor is the consummate professional, and yet caring and understanding to the patient's ailments and their discomfort. Her office is not anywhere near where I live and yet I'm more than happy to make the trek because I feel very secure having her on the case.
