More about Dr. Aref Senno, MD
Aref Senno received his medical degree from the University of Dusseldorf in West Germany in 1962. After serving his internship and general surgery residency in Germany, he continued his surgical training in the United States in Milwaukee and New York City, where he became a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon.
In 1978 , he did a research fellowship in cardiovascular surgery at the Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical Center in Boston.
He made national and international presentations at surgical conventions including Europe and Canada.
His publications have focused on such topics as: malignant tumors, pleura-pulmonary disease, fiberoptic thoracoscopy, and the assessment of the performances of different types of prosthetic heart valves currently in clinical use.
In 1979, he founded the Diversey Medical Center Group, which has three satellite clinics in Chicago.
In 2004, he opened a surgical center and later an urgent center.
Dr. Senno has a complete diagnostic & imaging center, occupational health services, rehabilitation and pain management institute, an institute for vascular medicine and a midwest weight management institute.
He was the recipient of a Humanitarian service award from Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley for his work in the underserved communities in the city.
In 2009, he opened a Medical Clinic in Aurora, Illinois and the following year he opened an Advanced Institute for Infertility in Chicago.
