Dr. DiBella was very complete in his assessment of my hand problem. He was a good listener, kind and thorough during my appointment. His nurse and office staff are friendly and pleasant and make you feel very comfortable. The only draw back was the wait time, but once I was in it was well worth the wait!!!

Dr. DiBella has been a partner at Lankford Hand Surgery Association since 1983. He specializes in all problems involving the hand and wrist, particularly fractures, nerve and tendon injuries. He has a special interest in wrist reconstruction and arthritis of the thumb. He is consulted by the orthopaedic community on complex wrist and thumb problems.
Born in Rhodesia (a former British colony), Dr. DiBella graduated from St. George’s College, a Jesuit high school there. He was a prefect and played 1st team rugby. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Thereafter, he completed internships in general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics + gynaecology and paediatrics at several hospitals in Cape Town, including Groote Schuur and Red Cross Children’s hospital.
Dr. DiBella then went to England to commence his surgical career. He successfully sat for the Primary examinations of the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. A Senior House Officer position in accident and emergency at the Royal Free hospital in Hampstead, London, followed. He then came to the U.S.A. to do an orthopaedic residency at the University of Connecticut. A full fellowship through the Connecticut Combined Hand Surgery Fellowship Training Program at Hartford Hospital concluded his specialty training.
Dr. DiBella is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has additional board certification in Hand Surgery. He has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical School and Parkland Memorial Hospital, and a member of the teaching service.
