About Dr. Ashish Asawa
My interest in the field of allergy, asthma, and immunology stems from personal experience with severe asthma and allergies at a young age. As a result of those personal experiences, I have always had a gravitational interest in this field, and I feel it gives me a unique ability to listen to and understand my patients on a very meaningful and personal level. My goal as an allergy, asthma, and immunology specialist is to understand my patients' individual medical needs and provide personalized care to each patient with an evidence-based and compassionate approach to improve each patient’s quality of life. I am honored to be able to practice medicine and offer my expertise in the field of allergic and immunologic diseases at Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Asawa is a board-certified adult and pediatric allergy, asthma, and immunology specialist. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, allergic skin diseases, angioedema, food allergy, venom or insect allergy, recurrent infections, and asthma. Dr. Asawa received his Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Biology and Finance at Washington University in St. Louis. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas and his allergy and immunology fellowship training at UTMB. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He holds memberships in local, state, and national allergy, asthma, and immunology organizations. In his spare time, Dr. Asawa enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is also an avid and proud Houston sports fan.
