Patient reviews for Dr. Audrey Halpern
Idk why but is it me or front office secretaries need to be on top of their work and due diligence? The docs are great. My struggle remains with the unskilled appointment makers and front office.
She covered everything and explained a lot that helped put me at ease.
The procedure was great however getting a bill in the mail then finding out i was misquoted was not. Never have i felt so taken advantage of by a medical office to receive a bill for a smaller amount, then call to pay and find out the bill is significantly larger.
I met with one of her associates who was very thurough. The staff was friendly and helpful at explaining things to me. I feel assured that I will get the help I need from this office.
Very informative, I felt comfortable talking to her about my worries. Will be going back!
Professional yet friendly, kind, approachable, and thorough. It was great.
Quick and very thorough! Would definitely come back here.
The front desk staff was amazing. NP Bala listened, she was empathetic and just plain kind. This was one of the best experiences I've had in a doctor's office.
Was professional and helpful.
I had a great appointment with Dr. Halpern, but unfortunately scheduling and follow up has been quite a nightmare. First, my scheduled appointment was rescheduled. Next, I had a follow up appointment for an EMG that was rescheduled no fewer than five times leading to a delay in my treatment of more than a month. I was given confirmed appointment times multiple times and these were all cancelled. I now have been suffering for over a month with no resolution because of scheduling issues. I understand that things come up, but claiming confirmed appointments and then denying them is not right. I was transparent with my scheduling needs and I would have appreciated the same from the scheduling staff at the office. Given what a great experience I had with Dr. Halpern, I would consider returning if I had a highly flexible schedule. Unfortunately, I do not have that luxury.
Dr. Reynolds is amazing. Great staff!
I LOVE Dr. Halpern, and everyone in the office. I have experienced constant migraines, and I have gone to every kind of doctor imaginable. I even tried a few other neurologists and nothing was working. I am so glad I landed on this office. I felt heard and understood, and she knew exactly what to do to fix the problem. I am basically migraine free now!
Dr. Halpern was very straightforward and professional. She provided me with a lot of information and recommendations on some migraines I'm experiencing. I also enjoyed her office and staff.
Dr. Halpern is a great doctor. She's extremely thorough and doesn't make you feel rushed during the appointment. I did have to wait a few minutes every time I visited the office, but it wasn't excessive. If you have any problems with migraines there's really no one to see besides Dr. Halpern. Highly recommend.
Dr. Halpern has a lovely office with a friendly staff. I was well informed about my upcoming appointment and Dr. Halpern was very thorough during my visit. She really took the time to listen to my challenges, understand my specific needs and explain them in a way that I could understand. My next steps were very clear and reasonable. She also gave me great options that fit what I was comfortable with. As of now, I would recommend her to anyone! Looking forward to finding a solution with Dr. Halpern for these terrible migraines of mine.
Professional but warm and engaging. Felt as though she heard me and my care is a collaborative endeavor.
Very informative and caring staff
The physician assistant was really great and personable, she made me very comfortable explaining my symptoms and just chatting. She was detailed in her questions and understanding my lifestyle. Dr Halpern was also very personable, it was a casual conversation that was comforting and felt like they really understood and wanted to help. The PA looped the doctor in enough that although quick with her, didnt feel rushed or like anything was missing. It was a first appointment and we are looking for a treatment plan in a follow up, but they took care of my needs for the time being and gave a timely and easily understood action plan. I would recommend this doctor.
Both her and the PA were very thorough, explained everything and sincerely vested in providing utmost care.
She's always a pleasure and always very informative.
She knew medical history about me that I forgot I had provided and she was aware of it during my visit. She provided me with information about treatment that I was not aware even though i knew of this diagnosis for years. She worked with me when my insurance cost too much for prescriptions. Although her office is very good, for example, called me to let me know when the doctor had an earlier appointment, the office can improve in other ways. Overall, 4/5 stars for her office and 5/5 stars overall.
She is fantastic! Would highly recommend to anyone struggling with migraines. She explained things well and mapped out a great treatment plan.
It is probably not fair for me to review Dr. Halpern. I have had a headache, the same one, for 30 years, and it would take a miracle to get rid of it now. I also take a lot of medications for other conditions, and it would be hard to add yet another medication on top of what I have. So, when Dr. Halpern told me that she didn't think that she could help me, it was a reasonable response. I just didn't care for her disposition, I felt that her office staff was somewhat rude, and I don't think that I would have gone back again even if she had been willing to take me on as a patient.
Dr. Halpern is amazing. She really gives you attention and listens to everything you have to say and your concerns before she asks more in depth questions and gives a treatment.
Very thorough medical analysis taking all elements into account and recommending a full range of tests to decide on the appropriate treatment.
This was my first visit to a neurologist. Dr Halpern was lovely. We discussed my issue and she answered my questions and put my mind at ease. I will be following up with her in March and feel confident in the care I will be receiving.
She was terrific! Addressed all of my issues
In an age of efficiency and algorithms dictating the length of a patient's appt, it was refreshing and comforting to find a doctor who took an extensive amount of time for a thorough conversation and assessment.
Highly recommend! Attentive and smart. She worked out a treatment plan with me that will hopefully be amazing! She also was very knowledgeable about a lot of treatment options that I have never heard of before. Great doc so glad I found her!
I finally got help with my migraine.
She heard all of my concerns without being dismissive. I can appreciate that from a doctor.
She was amazing! So thorough. I switched to her after my neurologist, a headache specialist, was difficult lot get a hold if and just not what I needed. Dr. Halpern was a a breathe of fresh air. Her receptionist was very nice but what I believed to be her MA it tech left something to be desired. Regardless, she was awesome and im glad I made the switch!
Very thorough. Greatly appreciated that she was engaged and paying attention to the little details.
Dr. Halpern was great. Thorough, inquisitive, and deliberate in the way she explained her reasoning. She gave me her full attention during my first visit, while I felt that she allowed for enough time for a proper conversation and examination.
My visit with Dr. Halpern went as well as I could have imagined. She was, to my delight, everything I was hoping she would be. Intelligent, attentive, reasonable, thorough, and she has a holistic approach to treatment. I think this is particularly helpful when dealing with a chronic illness that may have a series of triggers involved. I did not feel rushed; this office seems to prioritize making the patient feel that their care is very important. This is... exceedingly rare in my experience with a colorful variety of doctors in NYC over the last few years. Normally I expect to wait around in a room full of sick, miserable people who are mumbling either softly or loudly about how their appointment was over an hour ago. This office does not overbook. There were no miserable patients waiting. It was a quiet and pleasant waiting room... how bizarre! Also of note is the professionalism of Dr. Halpern's staff. They were very friendly and informative. And also very forgiving after I forgot to bring a rather substantial pile of paperwork to the office I was supposed to have filled out before the appointment. Stress worsens so many health conditions; I feel like when you find a good doctor, believe that they will take care of you properly, and discover that the staff is kind and competent, it alleviates a lot of stress. All this is to say that when I have a pleasant interaction with a doctor as I did with this one, the meeting itself has a positive impact on my mental state rather than hindering it. And many of us with chronic health issues know that can really make all the difference. I am greatly relieved to have found Dr. Halpern and look forward to her care!
Great experience. Dr. Halpern is patient, calm, and knowledgeable and gives you all the time you need to explain your medical story. She listens carefully, explains clearly, and answers questions without the least bit of condescension or dismissal. She works with you on a full game plan to get better with clearly listed next steps. I had told many other doctors that I suspected my headaches could be caused by a certain medicine I was on and they all dismissed me telling me the dose I was on was too small to have any effect. Dr. Halpern was the first to listen to me and taper me off the medicine. My headaches have decreased substantially since then. Highly recommend.
She was very thorough and highly professional! It was a pleasure!
She is caring, thorough and knows her stuff. I can't say enough about her. I have been to several Neurologists who barely addressed by chronic migraines as a serious setback. Dr Halpern took copious notes on my first visit and spent the time to go through all possible treatments. A rare find in NYC. I'm feeling better and happy to know she is available should I need her.
Dr Halpern is extremely knowledgeable and she is also very good at explaining what type of treatment she thinks I need. She answered all of my questions and concerns and we made a plan which worked for my individual lifestyle.
Very nice doc and straight to the point about treatment. Her referral to a PT for my headaches did me wonders.
She was very thorough and I felt almost at home. Would definitely recommend her to anyone.
She is extremely intelligent, grasps the problems, and presents the options cogently.
