Dr Avani Bhambri received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Villanova University with highest honors (summa cum laude). She then continued her academic excellence and received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, a top 3 medical school in the country. She completed an internal medicine internship at University of Pennsylvania and her dermatology residency at State University of New York Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn and University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center.
Dr Bhambri was then accepted into a highly-coveted dermatopathology fellowship program at the nation's best cancer center, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Bhambri is one of only a handful of dermatologists in the country who is dual board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology, which affords her the unique ability to approach, evaluate, and manage skin conditions both macroscopically and microscopically. Being able to integrate these two views of the skin allows her to provide the most comprehensive care possible for her patients.
Dr. Bhambri has authored over 15 articles and book chapters on various topics in dermatology and has presented at local and national meetings.
Dr Bhambri is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
