Dr. Barrett Wingard lives in downtown Minneapolis. He grew up in South Central Pennsylvania and graduated from Boston College in Massachusetts. Dr. Barrett obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry, where he fell in love with the Midwest through his colleagues who, upon graduation, started to “flock to the Twin Cities,” so he did also!
Dr. Barrett has a young tortoiseshell cat named Aurora, and he loves cooking, playing music, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with his friends and family.
He joined the team at Maple Grove Eye Doctors at Pearle Vision in June of 2022 because he was really drawn to the environment of the clinic and the neighborhood as a whole. The opportunity to treat patients at a high level at this clinic really appealed to him, as well as the ability to involve himself within the community.
In his own words, Dr. Barrett says, “My favorite part of being an optometrist is the impact that I am able to make on a daily basis. Allowing people to be healthier through eye examinations and get the most out of their vision to enjoy life using the gift of sight.”
