Love Dr. Gruber! He's been great, as I visit him more often than I like for a condition I have and its always a great experience. Only problem is that wait times can be long at certain times of the day, but because everyone wants to see him. Feel free not to go so my wait times are shorter! :)

Dr. Gruber attended medical and graduate school at the University of Chicago. He earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Physiology in 1980 and graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Gruber completed his residency training program in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Chicago in 1987.
Dr. Gruber is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a Fellow of the North American Skull Base Society and belongs to many other specialty societies.
Dr. Gruber is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois School of Medicine at Chicago in the Departments of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics and has published over 30 scientific and clinical research articles.
An avid bicyclist, Dr. Gruber lives in Chicago with his wife and their four children.

He is only the second doctor I've seen in over 30 years I feel comfortable with. I have to feel at ease with a doctor especially if they are going to perform surgery on me. I wish I had met him 30 years ago and I could have had this taken care of a long time ago. I would highly recommend him, caring and knowledgable.

Have been to see Dr. Gruber SEVERAL times for chronic nosebleed issues I've had (and been dealing with). He has great bedside manner and has even let me in without appointments on multiple occasions. If you're not scheduled for early morning the wait time can get long, but the staff is friendly and I highly recommend Dr. Gruber

He was very nice and welcoming, he made me feel comfortable and it was such as easy doctor's visit! My visit with him was short, however the wait was very long to get in so just prepare for an hour wait.

Dr. Gruber, Dr. DeJulio, and the office staffpersons made my experience very pleasant and informative. My wait time was elongated because I had to wait for my out-of-town physician's office to fax over a referral before Gruber could begin work. Everyone was cordial, professional, and patient as we all watched the fax machine. Once the requisite paperwork arrived, everything about my appointment moved very deliberately.

While I was happy with Dr. Gruber himself, I was not impressed with the hospital that his office was located in or the fact that they didn't have my appointment on their records when I arrived. Luckily they said they could fit me in for my 9am appt, but I waited for an hour for my appt to start. Once again, Dr. Gruber was very delightful, but I wish I hadn't had to wait so long.

I found the staff at Dr. Gruber's office to be very friendly. Dr. Gruber was personable, calm and allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted. I was quickly diagnosed and we will see how that pans out after treatment. My only qualm was that my appointment was not received from the office through ZocDoc....when I showed up they didn't have my appointment and when I showed them the FOUR reminder/confirmations emails and the text message reminder that I received from ZocDoc- they quite dismissively said that they never receive those reservations. I don't know if the error is on the office or ZocDoc- but they implied that it happens all of the time which makes me feel like someone needs to look into rectifying the issue. Because of this error, I waited over an hour for my appointment which I arrived 15 minutes early to. But I will be returning for a follow up to Dr. Gruber. My suggestion would just be to call the office and confirm that your reservation was received.

Dr. Gruber is great! Has a great sense of humor and was able to take care of the problem I came to him for. Only issue is the long wait time which is rather annoying but unfortunately it is a part of the system and not special to this practice.

Dr. Gruber has a terrific bedside manner. He is a surgeon as well and very knowledgeable. I was really impressed with how he makes his patients feel relaxed and takes the time to answer any questions. Going to the doctor isn't usually fun, but he made the appointment as painless as possible and I walked out feeling fully confident in his diagnosis, knowledge and had all my questions answered.

My visit to Dr Gruber's office was very satisfying. The staff were very friendly and courteous, especially the front desk. I was very nervous upon my arrival but Dr. Gruber's professionalism mixed with a little since of humor, made for a very human experience.
