Dr. Nolan is an Associate Member of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, President-Elect of the Orthopaedic Society of Oklahoma, a Leadership Fellow with the Oklahoma County Medical Society, and Emerging Leader with the American Orthopaedic Association. She serves on committees within the American Orthopaedic Association and Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, and is a faculty sponsor for the Perry Outreach Program and Medical Student Outreach Program. She serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Assistant Editor for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Anthroplasty, Consultant Reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery,and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research.
Her clinical interests include all types of problems affecting the shoulder and elbow, with a special interest in complex problems. The combination of the European and American fellowships give her unique and extensive training in newer techniques and implants in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. This includes the Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement, which has been performed in Europe for over 20 years, but received FDA approval for use in the US only in 2004.
Dr. Nolan’s research interests include clinical outcomes of Total Shoulder and Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement surgeries, as well as biomechanical wear properties and durability of these types of joint replacements, elbow trauma, shoulder instability, and rotator cuff tears.
Dr. Nolan is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma, where she is actively involved in teaching othopaedic surgery residents and students, and will serve as the Program Director for the Shoulder and Elbow Research Fellowship beginning in 2017.
