A qualified gastroenterologist, Dr. Biju Alex is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was honored with his medical degree. He advanced his training by completing a residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University, Washington Hospital Center. He is also fellowship trained in gastroenterology as well as in hospice and palliative care at Augusta University.
Dr. Alex obtained a bachelor’s from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a focus on gastroenterology along with hospice and palliative care. He holds memberships in the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the American College of Physicians, and the American Gastroenterological Association. Patients visit him for a wide spectrum of common and specialized medical needs, including constipation, ulcerative colitis, stomach pain, gallbladder problems, and hemorrhoids.
