Brad Novey, M.D. is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who provides medical and surgical eye care to patients of all ages with a special interest in cataract and refractive surgery.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, and graduated Cum Laude in 1998.
He received his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA four years later where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then went on to a 1-year transitional internship at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, PA.
Dr. Novey completed his Ophthalmology training at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he became well trained in all aspects of comprehensive eye care.
Dr. Novey specializes in a wide variety of advanced vision correction procedures including Cataract surgery with Acrysof ReSTOR, toric lens implants, the Crystalens accommodating lens implants, and has extensive experience performing custom bladeless LASIK on both VISX and Alcon platforms.
He resides in Chapel Hill with his wife Shama and two children, Ronak and Lela.

Incredible doctor. Dr. Novey was incredibly thorough, friendly, and willing to discuss every step of the process for me to understand what was happening. I've now seen maybe 5 different people about this issue, and Dr. Novey made sure to go through each step of what had been happening to best diagnose and treat my issue. I can't say enough good things about him.
