Philosophy of Care
My philosophy of care is "patient-centered care." The patient comes first, and together we establish a plan of care that is right for them. I value educating clients to be in control of their own health care and health practices, and it is my goal to facilitate their decisions. I believe in caring for my family, and I consider my patients an extension of my family.
Why I Entered Medicine
My family are all caregivers. I decided to become a nurse when I was around 26. I was working in healthcare and had a desire to know more. I wanted to be more educated in my field. I started educating at age 26 and did not stop until I earned my degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I completed my Bachelor’s degree at Pennsylvania State University and my Master’s in Nursing at Misericordia University. I now provide quality, patient-centered care. I had excellent role models along my journey, and now I would like to be a role model for others.
Community & Charity Involvement
Over the past years, I have participated in many community outreaches, including volunteering at health fairs, immunization clinics, and fun runs. I served on my local school board for 10 years while my children were in school. I am open to serving in this community, and my goal is to participate in an overseas medical mission trip.
Personal Interests
My number one personal interest is my family. I am married to a terrific man who is a family physician and geriatrician and runs a residency program. I have a son, Brandon, who has a doctorate in physical therapy. Brandon is married to Kate, an occupational therapist. They have two children, my grandchildren, Alyssa and Abigail. I have a daughter, Kelsey, presently in nursing school; a daughter, Dianna, who has a PhD in Microbiology; and a daughter, Heather, who is a nutritionist and currently working on her clinical degree. They all keep me busy in my spare time.
