More about Dr. Brenden Cochran, ND
I would like to share with you my life’s journey. Born in California, my mother raised me as “earthy baby.” My mom prepared my baby food, pureeing it by hand. My family moved to Port Angeles, Washington when I was three and I was raised most of my life on a small farm. As a child my playground was nature. I commonly explored the field, pond, creek and forest. My family became increasingly interested in growing our own fruits and vegetables and raising our own cattle. Nature surrounded me every day and night. As I grew up I lived life with the support and true love of my family.
When I entered middle school at the age of twelve I had a devastating setback, losing my father to melanoma skin cancer. Truly struck with sadness I searched my soul to find my inner healer. As I grew older I felt a true calling to help people. This calling first brought me to the University of Washington in pursuit of medical school. While working toward my degree in chemistry I discovered another passion, teaching.
I began student teaching high school and pre nursing student’s chemistry at the University of Washington during my last year. But near the end of my undergraduate, I experienced my own health challenge. With my mother’s encouragement I sought care from an Acupuncturist and Chiropractor. Both of these individuals helped direct me toward seeking care from a Naturopathic Doctor, who truly worked with me to explore and overcome my health challenges. This experience of addressing me as a whole person and truly taking the time to listen and understand who I am, led me to the decision to pursue a Naturopathic Doctorate degree.
